That secret mod I was talking about (pics!)

Well everyone wants to smoke their sidemarkers, tails and or headlights. I am attempting to make that a reality. I had some spare time so I worked on a sidemarker today and I'm happy with the results. You can see the lit and non lit pictures, so you can tell that it takes away almost no light when lit up so it doesn't hinder night time visibility. Let me know what you think. I should have the tailights and headlights done by the end of the month

i like it, can we get a full side profile shot of the car with it? maybe that will dissuade some people's opinions on it not being a nice mod

I didn't take anything off. I was using the plastic paint spray to spray it evenly. I can use the alcohol to remove it if I want.

its actually exterior smoked vinyl, lasts a very long time, doesn't fade, and is translucent so it doesn't remove any brightness from the lights. During the day and night, the tails, sidemarkers or what not are smoked. I have to order more material, I believe the roll is quite long, so I can sell the extra to you guys, I just have to find out exactly how much is needed and also contact Soopa and get info on how to be a vendor on the site. Don't PM me, I'll post in this thread when I have the info

Smoked Rear Side Markers

All of you have smoked your sidemarkers w/ some sort of spray. Well I'm here to tell you that I actually have smoked rears that exactly match the fronts with Honda Logos on them. Little secret....expect to see them on 2008 models. I have the inside scoop and I'm the only one with them in the whole US right now since I have the inside scoop in Honda.

How was that done? Was it done by regular tints?

No they weren't done with tints. These are actual pieces for upcomming TL's. They are from a test vehicle and light up amber at night just like the fronts.

Just do not get in a wreck where you are at fault - the plaintiff's lawyers look all over the place for any non-standard equipment, bulbs, etc. If they can convince the typical nitwit jury that your mods were a proximate cause, it can cost ya.

I know of a case personally where a kid put on some sequential tailllights (on a Mustang) , gray market, not DOT-approved, and the plaintiff's attty was all over his case, and the jury found negligence. Ouch!

that looks legit, howeve without the new tailights from the 06 on tl, that doesnt look great. The new taillights have to resemble the a-spec concept, because that grey doesnt look right by itself. Mark my words we will all be doing tail light conversions to the new 06 tail lights, they are going to be that hot.

Fitz

pure speculation of course, but i know acura wouldnt sell a car without new tailights for the 06 year
