Does anyone know where I can get seat covers for the TL?

You can't use seat covers but you can use a vest or inserts as they are also called that do not cover the airbag that is built into the seat bolster.

I went and looked at those one hundred and forty eight threads. only four of them were title seats covers.

One had some after market information, One talked about having the seat covers replaced because a mechanic fucked them up. And the other TWO were FOUR years old.

Don't you think that someone else not just you might be able to HELP this guy out. If you can't why not just skip his thread. You've been with this forum since it starter, he just came along last month.

Alot of threads on this forum are SO OUTDATED asking the question again isn't going to hurt, new things have been made within the last two years. It's not like we're going to run out of paper and pen posting here.

 

I've had these seat covers and they are great! Excellent material neoprene like a wetsuit. Cost wise more that typical seat covers but ....

if i were to get seat covers for my tl, I'd use www.coverking.com they customize everything....I'd get their car cover too...

 

I agree, except I can't find a rear seat cover from coverking. In fact, I can't find a rear seat cover from ANYone for an 06 TL.

Anything cheaper than $250. Those covers looks good, but do they realy worth that much?

 

I ordered a set front and back from coverking. I'll post pics once I install them and put in the black floor carpet....

Aside from those people who don't like leather (and would have preferred cloth seats in their TL), I don't understand why you would want to cover them up.

1. Leather cleans up easier than cloth
2. Cloth covers can be cut so it's not like they'll really protect the seats from someone who forgets a screwdriver in their back pocket.
3. As long as you condition it, it should last a long time. I had a '93 Vigor (111K miles) and a 2001 TL (81K miles) that had seats with no cracking and looked great after all those years because I religously conditioned them.
4. Leather just looks nice (OK maybe that's subjective)

The only other reason I could see putting covers is if you want to protect them from pets or kids in car seats (mostly for back seats).

Just curious and I'm not looking to flame or be flamed. Just asking a question.

 

I don't know. My father in law likes sheep-skin covers for some reason. All I know, is that the covers he got, get dirtly easily, are hard to clean, and it absolutely ruined the leather on the seats underneath it.

 

Sheepskin is nice because it makes my wife happy and the seat heater on her side only does the lower section- not the lumbar as the driver enjoys..

That should solve the remaining arguements in the car

Has anyone seen the Terry Cloth covers that go over the front seats. I want to get them for when I go to the beach. I saw them for sale at the Acura dealership in FT. Myers FL, but I didn't want to shell out that much coin at the time.

 

are the seats more soft with the covers on?

I've got close to 73k on my car and the driver's seat (parchment) looks like absolute shit and if you've seen pics of my ride, I baby the thing. On top of that, for those of us who have a kid, there's no stopping them from scuffing up the back of the front seats. On top of that, the baby seat just jacks up the leather and I really don't feel like cleaning it every week.

I love the parchment interior but for a daily driver, it's too hard to maintain. Which is why i'm going 2-tone black/tan inserts for the seats and changing out my floor board carpet to black.

BTW, those okole's I think look pretty damn good. Probably keeps things cool in the summer too! I believe those are neoprene. The ones I bought are leatherette/vinyl combo which are very easy to maintain.

update on the seat covers....

don't even waste your time. Fitment is horrible. Unlike the neoprene that looks like it actually hugs the contours of the seat and headrest, the leather version I bought is

Not even worth the time to take a picture and post it. Luckily I put it on the Amex and getting credit back.

 

Agreed! It's one thing to direct someone to the search feature and also to add notes to help answer their questions, but it's another to be snide about it and not help someone out.

I mean, isn't th at why we use this? To help each other out? Egads!

Anyway... make sure you use seat covers that don't cover the side airbags. In the event that they do deploy, it's likely that they'll tear through the leather AND the covers, but why take that risk? If you're worried about premature wear, it's important to keep them clean and conditioned. Taking good maintenance/care of the seats should keep them looking good for a long time!

The main reason I would want them is because I drive hard, and slide around on the leather too much. I want something I can stick to, especially if I auto-x or am on a "spirited" drive!

 

it's pricier, but honestly you're better off just getting better seats with better bolsters. For example, the RSX seats are pretty firm around the side bolster area or the newer seats on the TL-S might work but I haven't sat or test drove it yet but can say that I do like the RSX seats.

Hey lee, yeah the fitment is horrible. For example, instead of following the nice curves of the headrest, it might as well have been a squared off cardboard box. Yeah, I'm exaggerating but man for the price of those covers, they should fit like oj simpson's glove.

Even the seating area that covers the top part / side bolsters of the seat. It was so loose fitting.....I don't even know how to explain it. Imagine having saran-wrap wrapped tight around the seat such that the saran-wrap never actually touches the seat where your back would be up against.......make sense?

Anyway, not worth it.

 

My wife purchased a set from our dealer, Thomas Acura, Covina CA. Cost around $350. fit is o.k.

 

the neoprenes are the best.
