Scratched my rim tonight =(
My TL-S lasted for 6 month's w/o any damages. But tonight I managed to scratch my right rear rim. I am very upset with myself. I misjudged the stupid island. Damnit! It hurts.

I know it sounds bad but all 4 of my wheels have curb rash. My prior car was a lot smaller than the TL and it took a couple of months of getting used to the size of the TL and not constantly running into the curb It's my car's only imperfection. It's been a few months since I hit a curb... in a few more months, when I'm satisfied I won't ever do it again, I'll probably repair them myself.

I found a nice scratch on the front left rim on my TL-S. I couldn't think of how that happened. I decided it must have been from the rail at a carwash. Anyways I'm a lot more careful now...................... and I've got some new rims coming at the end of the week! Then my stock TL-S rims will just be the winter set.
At least the gunmetal doesn't show scratches much.

that sucks!
but just to let u know, i scuffed mine 3 hours after i picked my brand new tl.
not my fault tho, just snowed two and a half hours after...fresh powder...a car slid out in front of me... slammed on brakes... abs... slid into curb but was able to steer away from that darn car.
just lucky it was the curb and not major front end damage on the first day!!! LOL

Now I know the feeling.......
Stopped at my local wash it yourself place to vacuum the car. I knew I should have just lugged out all my stuff at home and done it in my driveway.
Anyway - I used the one vacuum bay that I hate - it's way to narrow and I misjudged while pulling out.
I knew as soon as it happened it wasn't going to be pretty.
I did a quick fix once I got home and it doesn't look too bad now. It had to happen sooner or later I guess - funny thing is I use to pride myself on a curb rash free TL!

Sort of - there are a few DIY's out there and a few over the internet. All are basically the same thing........
1. Clean the area well
2. Mask/Tape said area
3. Sand hard spots
4. Fill any remaining gaps with Bondo
5. Sand with 400? sandpaper
6. Primer
7. Paint
I think the only hard part here is finding the right shade of silver for the base wheel rim.

I would imagine that you can pick up this paint from an Acura dealer, especially one with a body shop. That's just a guess, though.

One would think.........I searched a few threads here tonight and it looks like no answer. Others have tried SSM but it wasn't a perfect match.
I did sand down the rough edges and put some ASM on it earlier today and it looks better - it's hard to notice really because it's right on the edge. It's probably more work to fix than it's really worth but I will try - I prefer perfection....lol
I didn't create a big long scratch but it did put two little dings in the lip.
Once I get over it I'll try a little bondo and I have some silver spray left over from the lower grill mod trim idea. I know that silver was a close match.
