I agree that the two are completely different and cannot be compared. But I can't bash the scion tC either because I think it's a pretty good car for the price. Also if anyone ever gets a chance to sit in the back seats of that tiny car, you'd be surprised how much leg room there is back there. I tip my hat to whoever worked that one out. On the other hand, I'm not exactly the tallest person at 5'5", so head room might be an issue for some, but yea - overall it's a decent car for its class.

Younger-than-geriatric Toyotas

Scion is Toyota's second channel, separate brand (like Acura is to Honda) with less expensive, mod-friendly cars aimed primarily at younger consumers. Toyota's average customer is late 40s, Lexus is older, and Toyota wants younger, hipper customers. Scion sells 3 models, of which the Xb trucklet and the Tc coupe are pretty successful, and apparently enough older adults like them that the average buyer is still skewed older than Toyota's preference. That probably explains the purchase by OP's 43 year old coworker...

ViNhXoNxAcuraTL, you're an idiot. You feel so lost without knowing why one car is better than the other? C'mon, get a life. Gosh, I just want to kill you. Learn to spell are use proper grammer while you're at it.

Isn't it ironic that it worked out exactly opposite? The 43 y/o owns the TC and the 24 y/o owns the TL. LOL

I own both. We purchased a Tc for my 17 yr old son. I have driven his car. It's cute, peppy, good on gas. Just what a first car should be. It's also full of cheap plastic and build quality is second rate, at best. Reminds me of a cheap plastic toy. I have to remind him it's not a real car, just a wannabe toyota car. My modded TL is a roaring beast next to his car. It will eat his car for lunch. In fact he still asks to borrow my car.

I love it when someone tries to talk down to another person for their grammar when they themselves have the same problem.

Bro don't be discouraged so easily. There is a wealth of information in Acurazine. Unfortunately, as in everyday life, you will encounter pleasant and not so pleasant people. Just let it roll of your back..... You should consider yourself lucky in that you are able to afford a brand new TL at such a young age. Not many people at your age are able to accomplish as much as you have. Congrats on your new ride, and yes, your TL way better than a TC

I am new to this site & this forum is crazy funny. hahahaha
I'm really not sure why someone would start a forum asking which car is better. Its pretty obvious that you paid over 30k for yours & she probably got hers for less than 20k. My friend wanted one of these Scions & I talked him out of it. now he going tomorrow to pick up his 06 TL. That car has no leather, no power seating, looks likes a japanese pcs of shit & its incredibly slow.

I own both a tC and a TL. I bought the tC out of college and it is an excellent car for the price. It looks a lot sportier and sleeker than the TL however it is not powerful at all. The interior has a lot of plastic and it looks cheap. After working for a couple years I bought the TL two weeks ago. I definitely like the TL a lot more, who wouldn't. However, the tC is an excellent choice for anyone that wants a cool looking car, with a slow but dependable camry engine that will last forever.

BTW, if anyone wants a tC, I am selling my 2005 tC for 13,750 in Boston.

So are you stayn' or leaven'?
To answer you question, Yes, the TL is better in almost every way than the TC (except for maybe gas milage).
Congrats on being able to afford a new TL at your age. I bet you worked hard for it.

Talking Moonroof

Be sure to remind her that her moonroof could shatter w/out notice @ any given time.

Anyhoo, I find nothing wrong w/ a Scion TC & if I were in the market for that type of car (small under <20k coupe) I would definetly consider it. Altho, if I had a 16yo child a Civic coupe would probably be my 1st choice - those cars just scream high school to me.

hah, yea.. any bouncing pebble in the highway would shatter that... they did a recall and put a film on the glass to "fix" the problem

ok i'm a 06 tsx owner but hell the fxxx TL IS NOT a comparable vehicle to cheap tC!
Damn........lol

tC is made for some mad teenagers willing to waste money on getting TV screens and big subwoofers in the back

as you see, the car comes with NOTHING.... you compare tC to a Nissan Sentra...or not even...

TL is a vehicle ,if u were to compare and talk about....with Saab 9-5s, Volvo s60s, Audi a4 V6 3.2, BMW 330i and so on...

who the fxxx would compare tC to TL hahahahahahhahahaha
