Schedule B1 Service

Folks,

I have about 11300 miles on my '04 TL, and my schedule B1 maintenance light is on. I'm not sure how much this costs, but could you give me a general amount of what to expect to pay? TIA!

I just called my dealer about the B1 service yesterday. All I really need is an oil change and tires rotated. When my A1 service was due, I just asked for an oil change, but apparently A1 service is an oil change AND tire rotation. So I called to get an estimate for B1 and they quoted me $200! So I decided to get the A1 service instead. B1 service includes A1 and a bunch of other stuff like replacing and checking fluids, check instrumentation, etc.....a lot of which can be done by yourself. Hope this helps and hope your dealer charges less than mine does!

Search for B1. Among those listed is this thread https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...6&highlight=B1

chipplaysdrums,

Mcdaniel Acura are lame! They also quoted me $200 for B1 service. In the end I went to a local mechanic that I can trust and it only cost me $65 . by the way, that price include castrol syntec oil too.

Stupid fight btw Gamecock and Tiger makes neither team going to a bowl!

Attempted A1 Service Ripoff

I took my 04 TL into Piazza Accura of Ardmore with the A1 service message @ 14,200 miles. I asked for a tire rotation & oil change, plus PA state safey/emissions inspection.

The service guy called me later in the day to say that as I was approaching 15,000 miles, they could do "that service" for me if I wanted (funny, I don't read anything about a '15,000 mile service' in my manual).

I asked what that invovled, and he said, your oil change, tire rotation, ATF flush/refill, replacing wiper inserts and a complete inspection, including brake system (part of state safety inspection).

When I asked "How much?", he replied "two-ninety". When I asked how much for the oil change / tire rotation he said "seventy-five".

I resisted the urge to ask how much of the $215 difference was due to the new wiper inserts.

At least he admitted this 15,000 service is 'recommended, not required'. And to boot, the oil change was free, as it was my first at Piazza. Total bill $37.50 plus tax (excluding state inspection).

Sheesh. The sort of thing that discourages me from ever taking my car to the dealer for anything but pure warranty work, in favor of Saunders Auto Center in Phoenixville.

what did u get for 65 dollars...i say the same..forget the dealers...RIP - OFF

especially since my car is a lease...why overpay

so is it safe to say that the B1 service is just an oil change...i had my tires rotated with the a1 service

and they were recently re balanced

Some dealers do good job with maint related issues. I got my "B" service (by the way, there is no such thing as "B1" as "B" includes tire rotation) for $85 not a long ago. They did a thorough look around.

My dealer just told me the B service would be $198, so I scheduled somewhere else.
