The NY chapter of the BMW CCA is hosting an Auto-X day at Nassau Coliseum. Spots are still open...anyone can run...with $50. Here's the sign up link..http://www.nybmwcca.org/autox_signup.php

Starts at 10:15, I may just stop by to watch, it's always fun. Especially, the BMW Club....many of them cannot drive and wipe out a lot due to RWD.

I'm sorry but unless you are a professional, sound like you're good at auto-X.

Guys, do it if you get the chance. It's a blast and you learn a ton about your car. I suggest going and watching an event so you get a feel for how it works. Also remember that when you enter one of these SCCA events, you also help out during the course of the day. You typically have a heat you run in for about an hour and the rest of the day you spend working the track. The way I got involved with the SCCA was doing one of their novice schools where you get about 15 runs with the instructor riding along giving you pointers. You also do ride alongs in the instructor's cars and they teach you how to work the track. The novice schools give you a HUGE advantage if you really want to get into this stuff.

Didn't mean to insult anyone...you must have a friend with a BMW. Anyways, I was just kidding, AutoX is very difficult, I am not anywhere close to a professional. But, it is well known...BMW days have more wipe outs and tail spins and are more fun to watch. As opposed to when the Porsche Club runs....a lot of them are really talented and their cars are just set up better.
