I don't think the RV6 exhaust is worth $1900. It may be slightly better than everything that's currently available, but the high cost of all that extra SS304 tube isn't worth the $$.
Sorry to OP for my comments, but as an engineer that has applied far more engineering to exhaust system design than RV6, ATLP, XLR8 and EndlessRPM combined, I think my opinion is valid.

RV6 dual exhaust is 2 1/4” piping each. That’s a 4 1/2” exhaust with dedicated tubing for each head, which makes for less turbulence on its travel into the atmosphere.

No other TL exhaust has anywhere near the airflow of the RV6.

Actually I was trying to demonstrate what a J-series engine can sound like with a well engineered exhaust.
I don't want to sidetrack this thread, but I'm now considering a production run.

2.25" OD tube = 2.125" ID = 3.55 sq inches of cross section area. Multiplying by 2 gets you 7.1 sq inches.
3.125" OD tube = 3" ID = 7.07 sq inches of cross section area. This is basically the equivalent flow of two 2.25" tubes.

We also need more clips of your exhaust. Full throttle doesn’t show drone on atlp or rv6. What about 2-3k Rpm cruising? Or casual uphill acceleration?

It'll sound good on J32s and J35s.

You can look at all the aftermarket exhaust videos you want, RV6 or otherwise...nothing comes close to the exhaust on that TSX.

Exhaust sound is all about opinion. That TSX is a 3.7L sounding extremely mild even at WOT. ATLP and RV6 has more bass and throat to it. Would you not agree?

Even though the numbers make sense, I would only agree with this assuming all J-pipes flow the same. This isn't the case however.

Correct me if I'm wrong... just looking at geometry, those who have the RV6 long tube J-pipe would benefit most from the True Duals.

Nothing sounded better without drone...
I've had this exhaust twice...once on the black base 6mt...I had 1 of the first 8 prototype with the tiny tips (don't tell the ladies). I ended up hacking those off and
putting on some china made tips that mimicked the oem shape on base exit...that was my favorite setup.

Then on the blue TL-S I bought the car with full RV6 on it.

Excellent exhaust and Rich is a true enthusiast.
Glad to see that many people are still passionate about the platform.

Rich @ RV6 is an established J series brand and the one who will deliver if he gives his word.

If Eurospec wants to make a batch of mild exhausts, hes better off making his own thread next to this one.

I've heard the exhaust IRL, sounds mean AF. Anything but mild. The car also runs the factory precats. With the precats removed, it would be more aggressive if that's your thing.

With a custom J-pipe, the car makes 318 whp...with factory precats...flows extremely well...

Maybe this is a typo, but you mean "with" drone, right? I don't know anyone who wants their exhaust to drone or thinks it sounds better with drone.

The video not being new doesn't change the fact that it sounds better than any new/old video of other J-series exhausts. There is no exaggeration, the videos speak for themselves. He still posts on this forum, maybe he doesn't have 2400+ posts but that doesn't mean that no one hears from him, lol.

RV6 being an established brand doesn't mean they're going to sell you a premium, well engineered product. Virtually all the established brands have been selling subpar products to this community because people vote with their wallets and their standards are low.

I'm not doubting the flow characteristics of his exhaust, especially when paired with a custom J-pipe designed for that specific exhaust. I'm arguing his comment that both his exhaust and the RV6 True Dual will flow nearly the same. If that were the case, in theory, he would make the same power with the RV6 J-pipe and True Duals since I believe those have been engineered to work in conjunction with one another.

I reason because I want to justify spending $1900 on RV6 True Duals solely for performance gains (maybe it'll sound good too).

J series been around since 1998 and now just develop self claim "best exhaust"?

most people don't want to spend 2K on a cat-back exhaust for a car that's worth less than 5K. Look at how the OBX ones flew off ebay listings when the came out for around 1K for the whole thing.
