My RV6 TD exhaust is holding up very well, How's is your doing Justin?
other than accidentally scraping on intense angled driveways, my Rv6 is great! although, I havent gotten down and dirty and looked at the exhaust in quite awhile; i'm sure I'd hear something if something were broken

And also don't forget how many aftermarket companies buy stuff that's already on the market and just repackage it with fancier advertising.

Case in point: The Exedy clutch kit is really the much cheaper LUK kit repackaged. Look at the closeup pics of the clutch plate on rockauto. They're the same #!

That's what I should have done with my G35 and what I will do when I do a cat-back on my Accord. Much easier to rectify issues (like drone on my Tanabe exhaust on the G) and have it custom tuned to the sound you want through someone local. And in the end, the prices are pretty similar.

FWIW, the welds on my v2 J-pipe were works of art, even my friend who helped me do the install raved about them.

Their J-pipe is top notch and I've never seen anything bad about them here. But with exhaust, if you have a good performance muffler shop in your area that might be better than going aftermarket. I ended up spending way more than expected when the supposedly quiet (for aftermarket) exhaust had terrible drone.

My XLR8 V2 has been great since 2011 and no issues whatsoever.

I'm late to the party, but have been doing a lot of research on exhausts over the past few months. Strictly from an audible perspective, my top choices were as follows:
1) XLR8 (non-resonated)
2) EndlessRPM (non-resonated)
3) ATLP (non-resonated)
I like XLR8's burbly aggressive tone EndlessRPM's Magnaflow sound quality is pretty decent, but I'm worried about drone. However, I like the lifetime warranty aspect . Nothing against Heeltoe, but I'm just not the biggest fan of the smoother Euro sound.

After reading through this thread, I definitely have some concerns, but would love to hear if this situation was rectified? It's been over 3 years now and I would love to know the outcome. Additionally, can anyone confirm if XLR8 cat-backs exhausts have been discontinued? I heard rumbling that they're no longer available and their website also says that it is out of stock. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

They all sound about the same (including RV6), which is awful. And they all have drone. It's very difficult to get a J-series engine to sound good with a typical exhaust system design.
I went through great lengths to design my own system because EVERY aftermarket system that's been marketed for J-series applications sucks the big one.

Nevermind the vehicle in these videos, it's still a J-series and the exhaust system has the same layout as a TL, just a few inches shorter overall. There is absolutely ZERO drone with
this system and it almost sounds stock at idle, exhaust for a trace of throatyness. If you want to make the trip wusty, I'll take you for a ride in my car.

i talked to xlr8 a few months ago and they have no manufacturer lined up to make the xlr8 exhausts any more. so essentially no timeline on them ever being built again

Thanks for the update Dave. That makes the decision much easier I suppose.

It does sound great, though, that J37A2 TSX is Hot2Go!

I want that sound too!

I can't believe folks are willing to pay for non resonated exhausts just because there are no other options. Can we get a ground buy going for yours?

I bought XLR8 system just over a year ago and it sounds great. But there is there awful metallic rattle only on cold starts that persist the colder it is outside. I was told from the guy who did the install that it looks like a shoddy weld. It usually only rattles for half a second and then goes away. Annoying but it hasn't motivated me to try to fix it.
Def wouldn't pay their asking price again.

So Billy Boat doesn’t make any of the XLR8 exhaust anymore?

Probably why I haven’t gotten my J Pipe that I ordered 2 months ago today still.

I would just cancel it and go ATLP personally. You could call XLR8, but last time I asked it wasn't looking promising that Billy Boat was going to continue to make their exhausts

Emailed them this morning and this was my response. I canceled my order, just waiting for my refund and honestly probably going to just order the PLM J Pipe because it’s a direct copy of the XLR8. I had the V2-R ATLP on my 08 base and the RV6 PCD’s and honestly it felt like I lost power in the mid range. So I don’t think the 3” section they have makes much since on a daily driver.

At this time we do not have these in production. Unfortunately I cannot give you a date when they will be availalbe.
