J-pipe or exhaust first?
J-pipe or exhaust first?
Ok, I've decided (sort of) to go with a new exhaust and possibly a J pipe but have a few questions to help me justify $2k.
J-pipe or exhaust first if I'm not going to do both at once?
Is it worth just doing the J-pipe without the exhaust?
Yes, I've read threads for days/weeks/months but still I don't know what to do. I do like the quiet interior of the car now so I don't want to go all VROOM on it but I also like the car to bark a bit when I kick it in the ass.
Throw in your two cents and everyone has an opinion just don't go all hater on the post.
Thanks all

Ok,ask yourself if you really enjoy your car with the stock exhaust,if you answer yes then go with the J Pipe alone, throw in the Ice Box for added measure and call it a day,if you want a little more sound even add the HFPC.
If you answer no and can tolerate a loud exhaust with some drone then do the catback. Personally i would find that tiring to tolerate over a period of time.
I have the first option and i am very happy with the results,if you followed my thread you will also know that i had the CT Engineering axle back which btw is considered the tame exhaust and i removed it.
Hope this helps.

I put t J-pipe first and did not notice any change in sound. Then I put on ATLP exhaust and it was incredible sounding. Very nice, however not for the faint of heart. It was loud inside and out. I had a muffler shop put in resonators, it did take it down but it still sounds very good. I get frequently asked which exhaust it is and quite a bit of positive feedback.
Do I have a "punchable" face?
Hmm, it's not the "saving up" as I have the money, it's just I don't want a drone inside a nice quite vehicle but I also want a little more sound and power.
I'm well past the stage of having to make noise to make a statement, this would be noise and power for my own enjoyment. I've had plenty of years adding intakes (waste) and exhausts (most too loud) to cars.
What I would really like is a Borla as that has the best sound and power of any exhaust I've used over the years.
Now back to punching me in the face.....

If you want minimal in cabin noise I would recommend the CT-E Icebox and our XLR8 V2 j-pipe. Those will both only slightly alter the exhaust note and provide the best gains.
