Rust Check.
Rust Check.
Where do all Honda's start rusting? In the rear wheel well.
I used to do this with my Prelude twice yearly and was wondering if other's that live in snowy area's take any action to further rust proof their cars.
I grab a can of rust check rust inhibitor and just spray tonnes of it in the wheel wells so moisture doesn't get stuck up there. Once around this time and once in the spring.

Dont buy rust proofing. At best it doesnt work at worst it promotes rust by blocking panel gutters. Hondas have a (I think) 5 year rust through warranty. Unless you never wash your car I'm sure that time would be very conservative.
The heavier tar based materials can block the drainage holes but the rust check spray is thin enough that it wont.Ive used the rust check spray with good results.I would spray inside the rear wheelwell lips where crud can accumulate, the exposed parts of the rear wheelwell lips, and along the bottoms of the doors where salt can accumulate.I wouldnt bother spraying the wheelwell liners. And of course you want the surfaces that youre about to spray to be clean and dry. Also regularly washing the undercarrage and inside the wheelwells(also inside the rear wheelwell lips) at a coin carwash with fresh water will help keep things looking better.
Careful with the Material in the TL. If you look closely, you'll see that it's actually some sort of felt. I think they put it to reduce road noise in the cabin. I don't know if the rust proffing will affect/degrade this material.
