The RR Journals: Lubricants

The moderators at S2KI.com decided to organize all my Q & A musings on lubricants - they might be of use to some here. (We need a Tech or Under the Hood section).

P.S. S2KI.COM is down for maintenance - check back later.

TTT - S2KI is back up. I think - maybe just for members only still, but worth a try. I think they may be waiting for the site to stabilize from its update before opening it to thre world - if you try and are denied, please post and we can try again later.

Those posts on differential fluid scared the piss out of me, especially because the cases described were dealer-induced. I rely exclusively on my dealer for service....maybe it really is time to seek a good, independent Honda/Acura mechanic who will actually know what they're doing.

Yes, I think a number of people had their eyes opened on that one! It was an unconscionable mistake - like surgeon malpractice. That is the reason why, even though I have 4 cars and make a good living, I do all the work on all the cars, unless it is a warranty issue costing more than $100. Knowing the maintenance was done, done right, and using the best arts gives peace of mind. When I throw the S2000 into a power slide at speed, I do not want to worry whether the lug nuts were undertightened, or that the studs might break because they have been overtightened.

In awe...

Well, I'm in deep awe of all the good information you've culled and provided here.

My hats off to ya, RR!

He he he, glad to see confirmation that swapping out the factory fill oil with Red Line MTL in my 6MT was the right move.
