Thanks, jimthegreek. I appreciate your candor and dealer insight into issues!
I have been having the same problems. Last week when I took my car in the service mgr said something about it being normal and that is was actually a safety feature!
Sounds like the they are going to handle this like the tire issue (which by the way - Acura agreed to replace mine).

If it is the immobilizer, try eliminating the common causes of it: no other metal rings that might have flipped over and touch the key, another immobilizer type key on the same key chain.
Mine sometimes doesn't start in 1/2 second like my Accord and other cars do, but I've learned to crank it for 1 second now and it's never failed, mine is just showing the results of the emissions stumbling. And being a vin #259 I've had my share of problems, luckily this isn't one of them.

I have a only 100 miles on mine and on 3 occasions is has not started on the 1st try. Today it took a 3rd try to get it started. A bit embarrassing since I was showing my boss my brand new car. I have read this thread and other one I saw here on the subject, and all of the reasons stated for this seem plausible, but only one person mentioned (think he said a weenie starter), I also wondered, is this starter really up to the task? I wonder if it's the same part they use for the smaller TSX motor?
Regards,
Regards,
I am having the same problem with my car. I'd say its about 50/50 on the start ups. Somes it'll just fire up and the rpms will go to like 1.2k and back down to 1k or 900k and idle. Other times it sounds like it sputters and its "trying hard" to ignite. Its weird. Still no solution for this huh? Emissions my ass.
yeah ive been noticing this too BUT only when i start it up in the morning or for the first time since last use which was from at 11ish pm and start up at like 10ish oclock in the next day and it does sound like a rumble when i crank it but it only last for like 3-5secs and goes into idle. then after driving around and coming back to the car and restarting it again it fires up just fine......Might do the seafoam to the car since after my first seafoam.
startup a bit of rough idle
I am having a rough idle and you can feel it when the car is started over night or after the Acura TL 2004 has been sitting for a long period of time.
Has anyone else found out how to figure out a solution to this problem?
Does the Fuel filter need to be replaced?
I have 79K miles on my Acura TL 2004 6 spd.
any in site or comments please.

Some people will say I can afford to bring it to the dealer but I say If you cant pay the price to have a luxuy car maybe you should get a KIA
