negative. I wouldnt put drilled rotors on my car, but thats just me. A Type S I had before had them and they warped. I have also heard stories of drilled rotors being prone to cracking. They will also provide no braking benefit to your TL. Atleast not one thats noticeable on the street. Maybe they carry other types as well not sure.

Just get xlr8s stoptech. 450 for 4 drilled a slotted rotors with pads.

 

On the street you will not notice the difference between Drilled, Drilled&Slotted, and Slotted. On the track however, Drilled rotors will out perform Drilled&Slotted, will out perform Slotted. But Slotted is more durable than Drilled&Slotted which is more durable than Drilled. Drilled rotors are more prone to cracking then the other two styles. But they brake better due to more leading edges for the pads to grab onto. If you're using these solely on the street then it just comes down to which style you think looks the best.

If you don't care about looks or performance, then just get Premium Blank rotors which is a cost efficient and effective OEM replacement.

I just bought slotted rotors and the "premium" sport pads from brakeperformance based on your review (and a handful of others I found). I can't believe how inexpensive these rotors were and the quality of them. Totally impressed.

I was going to buy stoptech all around, but man, I saved like 200 bucks and I can't even tell the difference! It's also cool that their stuff comes with a lifetime warranty, so I have no fears of the rotors warping over time. Simply awesome.

 

The pads create quite a bit of dust, but they are quite good for stopping once heated up. In my mind, they are really good for the track but excessive for a daily driver.

For rotors, honestly, check out brakeperformance.com. Save yourself some money.

 

for OEM rotors and pads it about $200 an axle. I have an 2008 TL type S and only use OEM parts. Everything I've read doesn't make the case for aftermarket drilled/slottted rotors with ceramic pads.

 

OEM pads are nice, but generate too much dust. Ceramics don't have as good of an initial bite or cold bite, but once warmed up, perform just as good, with a fraction of the dust.

For street duty, choose drilled, slotted or both based on your aesthetic taste. If you manage to warp whichever choice you made, choose the next level up in warp durability based on ExcelerateRep's post above.

 

These guys look like a great value, but beware, their website says warranty is only lifetime for defects in materials and workmanship. Warping and cracking range from 1-2 years on the few rotors I checked, for a 07 type s, not lifetime.

So...how do these guys' rotors perform against the test of time? Anyone got pics of theirs after xx miles?

 

I'm sure they corrode like all other rotors. I've yet to see rotors that don't corrode over time. But if I have the option of saving $200 while I'm at it, why wouldn't I?

I also read on the G37 and Cadillac forums that they are pretty good. By the end of the day, it's kind of hard to judge brake quality and performance. As long as they dont warp/crack/or all out fail, you'd probably say they're good, no? I'm sure many brands, even ebay brands, will pass that test. The worst I've ever experienced was warped rotors on a car, and those were oem Honda rotors ('03 Accord 6mt and '99 Civic SiR). Never had issues with any aftermarket brand I've used. So, I'd say they're all pretty good lol.

 

Brakemotive does and will rust. They arnt painted like stoptech.

 

I just picked up a set of front Brembo pads from Tire Rack for $69.00 (free shipping). Thought that was a pretty good deal.
