Rotor getting rusts

I coudln't search on this topic or maybe i'm just pure retarded on searching..

anyways, I was washing my car today and noticed my front rotors are getting rusts on them. I have 06 TL 6MT and only had car for 1 month and 4k miles on it..
my driving style is just normal (get about 26~27 MPG) and I don't use heavy on breaks either.. I know it's been raining at least 2 days a week for past month, but is this normal?? or should I take this to dealer and have them checked?

On the contact surface, or on the hat?

Well, either way, it's fine. The hat will rust one way or another. On the surface, it's just the water oxidizing the metal. It will be wiped away the first time you use the brakes.

Not to worry, that is normal. Rotors are just hunks of unprotected metal

Wait till you let your car sit. Being in CA isn't like being in Ohio though :-). I just got back from a skiing trip to CO. Let my car sit for a week. I got in and started driving, it felt like I had ZERO brakes except for the metal-on-metal grinding. After a few stops...Good as new!

My car sat for a month last year when I went away for vacation during winter here in Boston and the rust on the rotor took more than a few applications of the brakes to clean off. The hate on all my rotors have rust. Some motor manufacturers do put on a coating so that the parts not touched by the pads stay rust free. But it's normal as everyone else pointed out.

Phesto, my rotors were warped after 12K and had to be resurfaced with an on car lathe. It's been another 12K now and I still get a very mild shimmy braking from highway speeds. I will get aftermarket replacments when I do my pads. I've had good success with the OEM Brembos from tirerack.com on my 97 Camry.
