Rotor/Brake to be replaced and power steering ?????

Just ordered Brakemotives set for my 07 TL-S (drilled/slotted rotors w/ pads).

I'm having a friend install at his shop when they come in. Just curious about the brake lines. I've read a few post about people changing those out too, to stainless. What are the benefits of doing so? My car is stock and drive in the city (Chicago) and don't use it much, mostly on weekends since I commute to work by public transportation.

Last time I went to the dealer, they recommended that I also flush my brake and steering fluid ($129.95 each - ). Figured, I'd get all my brake maintenance and whatever else is needed out the way.

Car is currently at 54k

Any info/input is appreciated.

Thanks everyone!

OEM tubes are a dual-layer tube of polymer/rubber that are susceptible to road debris and deformation with rapid expansion/contraction. Stainless steel lines are the same concept, only of teflon/SS, which are far more compliant to expansion/contraction. You don't NEED them...but they are a good investment. I've yet to hear of any TL OEM lines failing. If you do replace them, a flush/bleed is mandatory.

$130 per service? You're better off learning the DIYs in there, my man.

I got my brakes and rotors in today, from brakemotive (next day delivery, ill take it) and decided im going to upgrade the lines also.

Got a referral from a friend and shop quoted me $250-300 for installing: rotors, pads, brakeline (w/flush) and power steering flush..

sounds good?

Sounds like normal $75-$100/hr labor cost to me. If you have tools you should try the pads and rotors yourself it's too easy.

That's not a bad price for someone who's not mechanically inclined.

Braided stainless lines expand less when you hit the brakes giving better pedal feel.

Got my Brakemotive set (rotor/pads), power steering and brake fluids in last week. Wen't to my buddy to get everything installed and turns out the brakeline i ordered from a local peformance shop, near chicago, turned out to be the wrong brake line (ALL had one end w/ banjo fitting. Again, I have an 07 Type S w/ OEM brembos in front.

Is this right? After looking further The front doesn't have a banjo connection, right?

I'm not mechanically savy so looking for any input/suggestions.

Thanks everyone
