Rotex Gold Kevlar Pads (for 6-speed)

I'm going to get a set of the subject pads for my Wife's TL. Brake Warehouse sells them for $120, but others have posted an $85 price. Anyone know where to get them for that?

Thanks-
Jeff

I think they raised the price. Call and ask how much they are. I still have my invoice, but that was from well over a year ago

Did you get them from www.brakewarehouse.com?
If so I did contact them and they were $120 + shipping.

How do you like them? Is there considerably less dust?

In installed my Rotex Gold Kevlars on my '04 TL manual last spring. There is slightly less braking efficiency when compared to the stock pads (this is to be expected). As for dusting (my primary reason for going this route), I would estimate perhaps 80-90% less dust.. in other words a huge difference in that department.

Make sure you bed them in properly if you are using existing rotors without turning them. This is critical.

Yep, brakewarehouse.com is where I bought them. In November of 2005 the pads were 64.99 plus shipping (10 dollars from NY to CA). I remember looking at another website and the same pads were well over 100 dollars. I'm sure they figured out they could double the price and still be competitive.

It's important for any new pads, with either new or old rotors. The exact process will vary based on pad composition, but the manufacturer should document the proper method.

How about front rotors? Is there any place to get replacement rotors other than the dealer? I don't need any bling-bling holes, slots etc.

i put the rotax kevlars on my car.. absolutely love them... i think i paid somewhere around 120$ from brake warehouse... i bed the brakes the proper way they are recommended... i think it was around 6 hard brakes from a speed of 60mph, then drove the car without coming to a stop to cool the brakes. the reason being, you want get the brakes hot to transfer the brake material from the pad onto the rotor.. i did not get my rotors recut or refinished.... i havnt had a squeed since day 1.. i did them a few months ago in the summer roughly 3-5k miles ago..
