RonJon and whole car paint question.

I'm planning on getting the Polyurethane only RonJon body kit and since my car's gonna be WDP, I might as well repaint the entire car. The only problem is I don't know how much it would cost so any help would be appreciated.

Why would you repaint the whole car? A good body shop will color match the kit to the car. My body shop charged me $800 to prep, prime, paint and install the RonJon kit.

I agree with dragonlord unless the pain on your car is really bad; otherwise, it's not necessary.

So you got yours painted and all that for $800, I think I like that choice better than buying the already painted and hoping the paint would match the car.

WDP will not match if you purchase pre-painted from us, and yes, a good shop will match, but I've heard stories that a shop makes the promise and then doesn't deliver, thasts a chance you have to take and trust you have in the shop. If you are going to repaint the whole car, I ould suggest choosing a different color and making it custom for that added wow effect. Also, have them repaint your stock bumpers just in case you have to sell the car.

I don't know if you really have the money or not to do the whole car, but appearance wise that would definitely be best. For two reasons:

1) Matching that wack factory white is difficult. Front oe color, rear one color and body a different color is a real possible end result.

2) Awesome chance to paint your TL it's own color different from any other one out there! If I had the money you better believe I would do this in a heartbeat!!! I love being unique!

edit: LOL...I just noticed Rondog said basically the same thing...

Wait the car is wdp, definitely get the whole car painted a different color altogether

On the real though a custom paint job in a higher quality white would be best

I know of a custom hot rod shop by me here that was going to charge my buddy $11K to custom paint his 67 Chevelle. His paint jobs are worth every penny. He was going from Marina blue w/ white stripes to the Orange with white stripes. And it was going to be about 2 years to get it in and paint.

If you're going custom- check out House of Kolor paints! They have some trick colors. I would be if I had the $$$.

I thought this would be a VERy expensive thing to do if you have the whole car, door jams, etc. I think I'd just trade the car and pay that money down. I wanted to have my painted something non factory, after I get my ASPEC and wheels.

So comparing the price for your already painted kit and the non painted kit (and then painting it to match the rest of the car), the latter would be best. How much would you think the cost to get it painted at a shop be? Someone already said $800 but I want more comparisons from more people.
