Point well taken however, it's interesting that not only was the afore mentioned auction pulled but so were the other two or three the same seller had started. I would tend to think that if someone were to want to sell someone else's product that there would have to be some type of agreement as to what price the item could be sold for as well as description/warranty would be offered.
When Ron found out about the auction he seemed to be genuinely upset and interested in finding out what the HELL was going on.

P.S. I would think that if Ron was allowing his merchandise to be resold like this that there would be MANY more "sellers" wanting to capitalize on any profits to be made given the popularity of his design. Just a thought.

MichaelBenz...i get what you're saying because i realized the same thing when i saw the auction, but i wasn't knocking on them selling the bodykits...i was ragging on them for taking Ron's photos and making them theirs either by cropping out his logo or by blurring it in the pictures...as a graphic designer and amateur photographer, the last thing i want is someone taking my work, removing or blurring out my logo/name, and tossing their name on top of the image to call it theirs...that's bullshit i'll do what i can to bring them down...you're right, ebay is full of people reselling other people's stuff...i already know that...but my arguement (along with everyone else i assume) was about using Ron's pictures w/o his consent...and yes i'm sure we were all a little ticked off they were reselling his stuff too though...i would be...anyways, just wanted to clarify my involvement in this thread...

Guess they should be glad they didnt sell any...cause they are NOT urethane....it appears to be fiberglass reinforced poly from the other thread. They would have a possible claim if they did sell it given the descr.

I sure hope they are back selling these at that lower price...all you did was run off a seller that was being more competitive than Ron on the resale price? Uh...if you think this is a good thing....I have a UR Pulley I can sell you for $250 instead of the $175 they are discounted here on AZ for, since you must want to pay more money for something you could have gotten for less? I guess that was before the hub-bub though.....now they are gone. WOW....good thing....I think not! Did you not know the cost of the RonJon kit before you started the hub-bub?

The auction's gone and I don't remember the details from it, but what condition was the kit (urethane, prepped/primed, painted)? $1300 shipped for a urethane kit is about $400 below Ron's price, shipped...that means they would have to be buying it from Ron really cheap to be able to make a profit at that price. While that's possible, I highly doubt it.

Sorry for being late, that was a dist who tried to see if there was a market before he wanted to stock it, but i told him he has to have our brand name in there. Obviously he went out of his way to cover it up, which makes me kinda wonder.
I spoke to him and he said he cancelled the auction and that he was covering the name to see if it would sell. eh, its over now anyway, let me know oif there are any other auctions, thanks again guys!

It appears that its quite possible......as I said earlier (I think anyway) that it would all depend on Ron's business model....and if he is seeking distribution for his product. It appears that this is the case....and knowing the distribution segment....they are pirates man! They widdle you down to little to no profit margin if they can!

Yeah, I never understood this concept, sell at a price low enough for the dealer to mark up, so he ends up making more $ than the original producer? And I'm the one paying for all the advertising.

Yes, I did although as I stated earlier that was not the reason for this post. The auction selling price was for the kit UNPAINTED with a total price of 1250.00 shipped. I see your point and understand your sarcasm however, the seller came across as deceiving with their company name plastered over the pics as well as there being no mention of the Ronjon name in advertising the kits.

Help me understand something. You go out of your way to ridicule what I posted and take a couple of jabs, but later in this same thread you do a 360 with your comment to Rondog. My reasons for posting the thread were well stated early on and for whatever reason you seem to be the only one who isn't able to grasp the reasoning for it. Where did your idea of me wanting to pay more for something come from anyway? You're either for the lower advertised price or for Ronjon not getting taken by a "distributor". So which is it? You voted for Kerry, right?

I was wondering if anyone had noticed the "obvious" RJ body kit being sold on Ebay under the name of Super Auto Salon? They are saying these are custom made by "them" and are selling them @ roughly 1300.00 shipped. They even have pics of of a TL with not only the kit, but also the wheels installed. Does RonJon know about this or are they somehow affiliated? I was under the impression they were exclusive about mfg/sales.
If anyone's curious, the user name on Ebay is Superautosalon .

FYI, I am a soon to be owner of an '06 TL/NBP/Qtz/6MT!! The RonJon kit also will find it's way onto this car ...... soon!

Someone let me know if I'm off base with this Ebay deal .......

Cheers -

I pasted it above for your review.....now where in this listing does it say it was made by THEM? It states they are custom made....this is a FAR cry from made by them...which you were inferring in your OP. They also mention in the listing something about "their" kits...and if you personally took that as to mean they were inferring that they made the kits....well....your bad I guess...I mean...that is kind of ebay lingo 101 there from what I see? Did they doctor photos...yep....happens all the time. Bottom line....they were selling Rons kits dude....so no....I am right on base my friend. Now as for my doing a 360 in your eyes to my comments to Ron....no...that isnt a 360....it is a TOTAL understanding of how this happened that I dont think you totally understand due to your lack of knowledge of the distribution segment and how it works. Now the fact that Ron was requiring that his logo be included in the photos is TOTALLY his legal right....which he should exercise. But what I am telling you is this type of thing happens all the time in the distribution segment...they are whores!

So again...my purple friend....you are a bit off about my views. Because fact is...this was a kit the guy bought...or was gonna buy from RonJon and resell (hense the term in their listing....our kits...once you purchase it...it is yours)....so why would Ron have a problem with this? (other than the whorish cost they are letting it go for and the fact they stole unauthorized photos...but thats between Ron and seller...and can easily be remedied by cutting off the distributor if they dont comply)

Basically...I was right dude...its a sign of business growth and a specific business model.....your first post was NOT aimed at just the use of his photos....you were attempting to call someone a fraud ... which simply isnt the case. These people and Ron had a business relationship. Why did you not see anybody post after my comments about the matter? Not sure...maybe because they looked at the other side of the stick, got off the witch hunt and considered what I said? Ok....you accomplished running the ebay guy off....and at the same time....I guess...."kept the kit more exclusive" as if you are running RonJon....because apparently they HAD A BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP dude...which doesnt really matter WHAT you like...in order for the company to grow exponentially...they need the distribution segment! Now my comments to Ron were regarding that segment my friend...one I am VERY familiar with.....not a 360 on my view....

You see...the way it works is the distribution segment beats the crap out of the manufacturer to where, as Ron has confirmed above, the distributors are often times making more margin than the creator or manufacturer of the products....all the while....the distributors take advantage of the advertising and presence the manufacturer, Ron in this case, created and continues to service. But distributors mean more movement...and more movement means more cash flow....which is VERY important to a business. A side effect to more movement and more volume is greater economies of scale in mfg process....which can positively effect your margin. So...its a friggin double edge sword that unfortunately most business needs in order to grow.

School is out. I am at work now....talkin enough about this stuff here where I am now! So again....sorry...but you are wrong about me MkyBzns....but thats why they dont leave Monkey's in Charge of the Business Man! Just kidding!! Trust me...they dont leave Bart in charge either! (not exactly true)

PS...there is a reason for everything dude...just like the ebay auction. Its was a distributor trying to gauge movement on a RonJon kit....now if they put Rons name on everything...and they call Ron directly....how would they know what the movement figure they were trying to attain was? Many companies use ebay for this type of thing. And that doesnt make em dishonest. I guess what I am asking you is what did this person do that was a MAJOR crime that should lead to the witchhunt this ended up being and chasing the guy away?

Ebay = Market Research to many companies. Is a product a good idea to carry in our lineup....lets crank it on ebay and find out the interest? That type of thing. Heck...sometimes that is their sole source of sales too on specific products....depending on the situation.

Thanks for the 101 and dropping the sarcasm .... I do believe this thread ran it's course long before getting to this point as well. So do you hold the record for the longest post here, friend? Seriously, I appreciate your effort and will be on the prowl for a debate dealing with something we BOTH know something about
