03 TL-S vs E36 M3

I finally found an E36 M3 to race last night. Ive been trying to find one for quite sometime now. He was a nice guy and we got to talkin. His friend in his Camaro SS just finished racing my friends EVO VIII. I threw in a challenge, and after some trash talking from everyone else he accepted. As we were leavin the parking lot a cop flies by and pulls him over for no apperent reason lol and lets him go after wasting about 15 mins of our time. So we finally get to the road we were racing on and line up. we decided to go from a 20 mph roll. 3 honks and we were off. I pulled ahead by about 3/4 of a car length and i stayed there till about 115-120 and then i see him pulling and he eventually passed me while i was in 4th gear.

mods to the m3 = Short ram intake and suspension
mods to the TL-S = CAI and suspension

What were you guys racing up to. I usually always specify a top mph so I don't run into the 4th gear problem.

yea i should have thought of that. i should be able to stay ahead once i get my pullies in. The kid in the passenger seat of the m3 was taping it and said he'll put it on the Massdriven website so ill post a link once he does.

it was defi a good run. if he was stock im pretty sure i could have stayed ahead in 4th.

oh yea and then on the way back we did it from a dig and i got my ass kicked damn rwd 5spds

Despite their "240 hp" rating, these cars can really hold their own, they are capable of running low 14's@99 mph with a good driver of course. Again good kill, but, put a good driver behind the M3, and the bimmer will always be on top, of course..Stock for Stock.

A kills a kill, but I think cause the driver wasn't that good.

I went to the track and I have two friends that had E36s with no mods. I was running a 14.9 on my TL-S. They were running 14.5s at least.

But yes, damn our 4th gears.
