Anybody have an idea when we`re going to see back to back articles against the 04 TL?

330 not fair as this smaller car will have better chance of sharper handling. Would be more fair to pick on the 530 as more similar size. My guess would include: 530, G36, GS430, S60R, 9-5, A6, Mercedes?

Why would you want 545 in the comparison? $35K cannot compete with $65K. TL will be destroyed in all areas except the Navi.

I doubt the TL would win many comparisons because of its drivetrain. The auto mags love RWD (even more than AWD) and they disdain FWD.

it would be no brainer if it loses to 545i, but won't be too far behind
then they will praise how gd the TL...@only 35K almost take the 65K 545i single handedly...

Frankly, it's a tough call... the TL is sized like a 5 but priced like a 3. How do you do a fair comparison when there is no real fair comparison?
Acura makes it difficult to compare the new TL to most other cars. The only cars that I see that are direct comparos on price, size, and market (sports sedan) are:
G35 and CTS.
Close calls:
A4, S60, 9-5

You might want to add the Jag X-type, the Lexus ES330, the Lincoln LS and perhaps the Toyota Avalon. Granted, these aren't much real competition but they are in the general size and price point.
You are right in saying the G35 and CTS are the closest, but I would add the Saab 9-3 and the S60 to that list too. The Saab and Volvo are great to drive and feel very solid, just I wouldn't want them because of reliability. Big difference between the Swedes and the Japanese, although the Swedes are getting better.
If I couldn't get a TL, the next on the list would be the G35.
