Roaches are eating my car

I noticed that the weather stripping above the windshield and my sunroof gasket have small little nibs taken out of them. We have a roach probelm in our garage with some Texas size roaches and I think they are eating the rubber. Anyone have a solution. We will call an exterminator tomorrow.

Going with the exterminator would be your best bet. You could also try one of those plug in noise makers that supposedly pisses the roaches off enough so they leave, or you can play backstreet boys, will prolly have the same effect.

Find out what their favorite food is and put it in the neighbors garage/yard. I believe they feed on "decaying organic material" like paper products, wood, and food. Somehow I can't see them getting on top of your car to eat your gaskets but who knows.

The exterminator I got for my termite problem really didn't solve the issue because the neighbors next to me have failed to treat their property. They still eat my wood.

Eat your wood? You need to practice better personal hygene.

Is the rubber in the TL natural?

Funniest thread ever! I don't mean to make fun of your situation, but the thread title just made me burst out laughing with a mental picture!

You definately need to check that your garage is sealed and there aren't roaches in your house too. Or the quick and dirty solution is to use a car cover, but maybe that won't work cause they might go up under it.

Be thankful, im Germany they have a horrible rat problem, especially at train stations. They chew through antaennas, anything rubber really, and the occassional brake lines. Imagine finding out your lines just failed while driving the autobahn
Now those are issues.

Call the exterminator and laying out some traps is probably your best bet. Maybe spray some sort of repellent on the rubber on your car, but make sure it won't eat through the rubber itself. Good luck

Park it outside the garage till you find the a solution to the problem man cuz chaging all those rubbers is going to cost you some money...

Any pest spray works better when integrated with a lighter. The TL has back up break lines, correct?

Not to disrespect but maybe should should thoroughly clean your garage inside and out. I've seen some people that dont even have room to park there car in the garage thats how cluttered it is.

I clean my garage once every two weeks. I hose the floor down and just organize everything and throw away unnecessary things that I dont need.

I dont have any roach or mice problems at all.

I used to when I had a huge mess in the garage.

My garage hasnt been used for cars since we moved here 12 years ago. Its now got a work bench, tons of bikes, tools etc. With this summer job I am getting a compressor and hopefully a miller welder. As for bug problems, in the fall hundreds of moths come in if i dont close the door. So I use spraypaint and a match, I make sure it doesnt climb into the can.

What you need is something called chlorodane. It's a felony to posess in many states because opening the lid causes birth defects and fetal cancer as far as a mile away or something, but it works, and it works REALLY well. If you're going to kill the fuckers kill them with military strength poison. agent orange looks like gold bond compared to this shit!

This is getting more gross with each post, and as hard as I work I think I am allowed to close a thread just because I hate roaches and hate seeing them on this page every time I open it.

There's other and better reasons, but this is the one I'm giving.

I think the OP has received the answers he needed.

The exterminator is coming, and that should put an end to the roaches, and his problem too, I hope.
