Revvvv Match an Auto (2005 tL)

So, just a quick question: it seems like all the auto people on the forum use the sport shift A LOT; some having problems with using it too much even! BUT, just wondering...does ne one ever revv match? err...am I the only one? (hope i'm not ruining my tranny -_-) i'm getting prettttty goooooood haha; down shift and in between gas it to just about the right rpm line...oh babyyy

can you explain to me how you're doing that with an auto? are you putting it in neutral first?

I do it all the time too. I drive my G2 TL-S a lot more than my G3 TL, though. I just don't think that the added force on the tranny if I don't rev match it (especially from 3 -> 2) is healthy. Do it all the time and no problems on an even quirkier tranny!

and yes, gas it during the shift lag is what I do. Although, i am pretty sure the TSX does it for you (noticed on the loaners).
Anybody have an 06 or 07 TL that rev matches for you or is it the same mapping as the 04?

the new tl-s does that for you! it also has an external tranny cooler. but trying to do it on a car that's not meant to do it on is not a good idea.

That would be my guess, too.

don't think it can cause harm really, all you are doing is decreasing the amount of friction at the shift on your tranny and motor mounts

yeah! that's all i'm doing...gasing it in between the shift; shift lag...
although sometimes if i do it wrong...the car jerks -> gas it too low

i'll try and record it err something...

and dear gosh...i hope it's not bad for the tranny...i always thought it was better for the engine AND the tranny because like bibledriver said...it's only decreasing the friction...doesn't jerk from it all...
