The retrofit source

I have a question on this site and I wanted to switch my drls out for their morimotos 3five 9005 and morimoto low beam harness 9005/hb3......I already know our drl's take hb3/9005, but can I put hids in my drls?

You could put HIDs in ur DRL but U might have to Run its own wiring so that you get full power to the HIDs along with its own switch. I wouldn't recommend it unless you wanna blind people but hey If u do it Post Pics. I would love to see this

HID won't run on 7v, which is what DRL run at.

yea I just installed that last week not really that bright in my opinion maybe I'll get the 96led bulbs maybe...... however I'm having trouble with my hid fogs......I need a good hid kit,any sugestions?

The purpose of Daytime Running Lights is for other drivers to be able to see your car in a distance during the day. It's not meant to be bright like headlights to illuminate the road and help YOU see and drive...

That being said, I believe adding HIDs into the DRL is pointless... OEM or bright LEDs are just perfect. HIDs in Daytime Running lights is overkill. Not to mention it will glare and blind oncoming drivers due to the fact that it's in a REFLECTOR housing and not projector like your headlights.

How many LEDs do you have on your current DRL setup btw?
