Reset srvice light

Hey folks !! Does anybody know how to reset the service indicator light on our 2004 tl's? We've got the thing telling us it's time for our first oil change (A1).
I'm more than capable of doing that on my own. I've searched the net and haven't come up with anything more than just holding the reset button for 10 seconds. That sounds almost too simplistic. Whats up with the little key slot to the left of the gear shifter ??
I understand that A1 also includes tire rotation, Also something I can do !
Almost 7500 miles.

Thanks!!

To reset the MID:

The procedure on page 196 of the manual is incorrect. In paragraph 3a of the manual, the requirement to hold the button for 10 seconds the second time it is pressed is omitted. If this is not done, the display will not reset.

Here’s the full procedure to reset the MID display.

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON

2. Select Trip A or Trip B (You can use either one, so if you are using one to record data for something, use the other one to reset the Oil Life Indicator).

3. Press the < or > button repeatedly until the oil life is displayed.

4. Press and hold the Select/Reset button for 10 seconds. The Multi-Information Display will ask for a confirmation.

a. If you are sure you want to reset the display, press the Select/Reset button for 10 seconds again. (This is the part omitted from the manual.)

b. If you do not want to reset the display, press the < or > button to select “Cancel”

The little slot next to the shifter is described on page 185-6 of the manual.
It is a shift lock release in case you can't get the lever out of Park when stepping on the brake pedal.

I was just logging on to confess to how much of a "tool" I am, and to say that the procedure is listed in the manual. Who would have thought ?? However, You probably have had experience with the manual's instructions. Thanks for the input. Greatly appreciate it.

Hey Ron,
In the manual, where the maintenance minder symbols are.... Symbol "A" just says to replace the oil. Whereas Symbol "B" says to replace oil AND filter. Now, call me crazy, but what's up wit dat ?? Am I to assume that the Honda/Acura oil filter is rated for 15000 miles?
I wouldn't just do the oil, would you ? Also, what's your feeling on these oil drain plug gaskets? I've got a new one to go on, but how critical are they ??
