Replacing my '02 TL-S

My 02 just had it's 3rd tranny installed. Acura covered it, the towing and the rental out of warranty with no hassles. My original plan to keep the '02 after it was paid off and just live without a car payment for a while is now basically shot, so I'm looking to trade. I like the way Acura treated me, and given that all I've read says the new TL, and TSX, are solid, I'm inclined to give them a chance. Looking for feedback on the two cars - TL vs TSX - in terms of day-to-day living with them. The TSX should be cheaper on gas for the commuting, but what I'm seeing doesn't bear that out, and I certainly like the drive and features of the TL better. The wife will be driving it mostly, though. So am I better to save a few grand and get the TSX, or will the extra dough on the TL come back to me in life expectancy, resale, cost of ownership and a better day-to-day living with it experience? I appreciate any guidance.....
Oh, and are there any special areas to check or look at as I'm shopping in terms of clues as to the way the car was cared for, or clues as to potential problems?

All of us 3Gs get about 32-34 mpg on the base model and I just upgraded to a TL-S recently and now get about 30-32 MPG highway.

I've had the TSX twice for a total of 10 days as a loaner.

I couldn't give my TL up for one. Though they are also very good cars.

TSX is easier for city driving though and the 4 banger is rock soild reliable from what I've read.

I enjoy the fit-n-feel of my TL and the extra room and never had any problems during my first 3Gs 45K run before it got traded in.

I'm at a dealer right now. My buddy is doing the paperwork on his new 07 TL. He is replacing an 05 TSX that has 19,000 miles on it. TSX was a good car but he really wanted a TL and has never gotten over it. Better features, ride and all around experience in the TL.

If you are looking at used, just insure that all service has been done and check Carfax. Resale prices still seem to be holding pretty strong. They are dealing at or below invoice on new ones with great financing.

Call Acura with the VIN number of any car you like
they have the warranty repair history, date and location of first sale,
and know any outstanding warranties in effect

that's what I'm afraid of....getting the TSX and constantly 'wanting' the TL....
