Why are you needing to replace them? The HID bulb is low/hi, as a single unit.

Same bulb but there is a flap that flips up letting more of the light out for the high beam.

Xenon lamps do not use filaments as in incandescent lamps (halogen lamps are incandescent). There are no filaments in a High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamp.

The headlamps on the TL are of a bi-level design. To go hi-beam, a flap is raised in order to emit more light from the HID lamp.

Exactly. In fact, you can hear the "clunk" of the shutter moving, if you're standing near the headlights when someone toggles the highbeams.

Oh well I guess I'll switch out the fog lights and return the high beams. Thanks for the Info.

The fogs on the TL call for HB4 lamps. These are also known as 9006's. For an excellent choice, consider Philips Premiums. These are very good lamps and will offer superb fog lighting. You can order them from www.autolamps-online.com.

if you feel that your lights are not "bright" enough, you can adjust the level. same if you feel they are too low or something. I would try to be considerate of others if you're raising them or replacing the bulbs for brighter ones.

Yeah, xenons are arc based, which in theory makes them more durable(no filament to break, and I believe if they were 100% leak proof would last indefinatly as I don't believe the xenon is affected by the arc, the transformer is another compnent which under normal circumstances won't burn out).
