Replacing the "fog lights"

How hard is it to replace the stock bulbs in a 04 TL for the Fog Lights in the overall headlight? I am wanting to replace the stock light bulbs with something..brighter. The manual show's the left light you need to take the air intake(?) top off? but nothing to the right. Anyone done this? and is it easier to do than the manual makes it seem?

i had a CAI in when i did mine and it was only hard because i was doing it in the dark. it only took like 5-10 tops. but not sure how the stock intake plays in to that, sorry. what are you thinking about putting in there (brand, color, etc)?

Correct for the driver's side you need to take a part of the intake off. This pops right off then there is a tube which is below that piece that pops off as well. Without removing these components of the intake you would pretty much have no room to access the bulb area. The passenger side is a breeze compared to the driver's side since it is easily accessible.

No. Only the main headlight bulb is a HID.

Some people have installed HID's in their fogs, but keep in mind the color temp rating. Normally the yellower the light the more functional it supposedly is for use in rainy or foggy conditions.

On the 04 base tl there are no lower fog lights in the bumper.. Do u have to buy a insert for fog lights or would u actually cut out a spot for a set? I couldnt find any inserts on ebay and was wondering how I would go about installing a set?

NO need to remove intake or anything to install fog light bulbs. As for lower fogs, you'll have cut your lower grilles to fit the accord fogs. There are several threads around here with detailed instructions.

Not sure what brand yet, going to check some lights out soon, but I know I want to do a HID WHITE, no blue. Don't want to look akward with mix match color coming from headlight.

See, very true. I mainly don't like that yellow color cause I think it seems cheap/basic but I do know safety and well road conditions are what I got to abide by...but I see so many people with such illegal looking lighting I figure I can get away with some whiter lights haha.

Thank you I am going to find some lights I want, that will last/wont break bank and attempt to replace them when I have a nice warmer day.

its not hard at all to replace the factory fogs on the 04-06 model. i swapped mine for 5000Ks to be as close a match to the OEM headlights. even my accord fogs are 5000K. quite good in the fog I must say.
