Replacement mats

I wanna get black mats for the quartz interior to add contrast. Not all season, but black carpet mats. No generic $3.99 pep boys either, but made to fit the contours of the TL so it looks nice. A few companies do these and I guess there is OEM. Anyone have any past experience with a mat manufacturer company or know where to get a good deal on OEM mats?

For OEM mats try Ebay or get the part number and google search for it to get a good price.

Try this website for Auto Sport Catalog.com - http://www.autosportcatalog.com

They have some really beautiful custom mats that are made to fit any car (including the 2004 TL). I just ordered their "Most Luxurious Floor Mats" (their words, not mine) for my TL, since I was not all that impressed with the OEM mats. They look good until you take them out for cleaning, and you can see how thin (cheap) they are.

Hope this helps.

If you're looking for custom fit contrasting mats, why not order the mats that go with the ebony interior? You could get those through any of the many on-line Acura parts dealers or your own dealer.

Moreace,

I received my new mats yesterday from AutoSport.com. I wasn't sure what to expect, since aftermarket floor mats are typically not quite right in terms of color match and fit.

However, when I opened the package, I was truly amazed at the outstanding quality and color match. They are also about 3 times thicker and more plush than the OEM mats. The workmanship is first rate with a plush pile, impeccably sewn binding, and thick rubber bottoms.

When I took the OEM mats out of the car, and compared them to the new ones, sizing and shape was exact. As for the color, it matches the parchment interior better than the originals.

Now that they are in my car, they look great. No one would ever suspect these are aftermarket mats (the only clue would be the lack of the TL logo, but I can live with that). These were on the pricey side, but given the investment I have already made in my TL, it did not seem excessive (at least to me).

Also, I ordered the custom sun shade from this vendor. I am expecting the same attention to detail and quality.

Regards,

Did it come with a $100 dollar bill rolled in one of the carpets?

Hey Moreace, what do you think of these?
http://www.weathertech.com/store/veh...f_opt_id=clear
They don't show the 2004 TL, but they do the Accord. Would the Accord mats fit the TL?? I don't know. I would think they're similar. Chuck

The ggbailey link above is what I am leaning to

Front and rear mats, which seem like they would be pretty nice are $99 + shipping AND front ones will say TL on them

Moreace,

These mats were around $200. There is a monogramming option, but I passed on that.

As for the Weathertech Luxury Mats, I checked last week and they are not available for the 04 TL (don't know if the mats for the 04 Accord will fit - I bet they won't!). Also, I am not crazy about the rubber binding on the Weathertech's.

Regards,

Moreace,
Those are cool. I didn't see the link, just checked it out. Very nice, I'd lean that way too.
The trunk mat would be nice to have as well.

Why not have them monogrammed with the initials "TL"?

I think I paid 108.00 for them.

Interesting. I wonder what they would do if Tom Landry wanted a set? (Besides freak out that a dead guy was talking to them.)

I wanted to have these mats monogrammed with 'TL', but when I ordered them, the customer rep told me that the minimum was 3-letters. I am not sure I believe that, but then there is also the disclaimer that Moreace referenced.

In any event, it wasn't that important to me. Also, I don't think it would look that good, anyway. Also, as Moreace indicated, it is more for your initials.

Exclamation They are NOT rubber-backed!

Just wanted to point out that these mats are not rubber-backed. Here's the quote from their Web page:

We use only the highest quality materials including luxury weight carpet and specially designed open cell foam backing to prevent mat movement.
This "open cell foam backing" is probably exactly the type of foam that is on our OEM mats. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but I wanted to make sure that people are aware of this. I'd say that at this price I would expect rubber-backed mat.

Putting "ACURA" instead would be better than "TL" in my opinion, but then there's the restriction of no manufacturer's names...
