Replacement Key

What exactly is the process they go through when you go to the dealer and ask them to make a new key for you?

I would like to know too please.

I do know that you will need your key code number. I have mine...but that is because my TL is only two weeks old, and I have not had time to loss the code yet.

My key code is located on a white plastic tag that is attached to my valet key, which is located inside the user manual portfolio.

You already know...you just said it lol. give the key code to your dealer to get a replacement. pg 89 of the owners manual...I never got that key tag...think I'll pay the dealer a visit...

There's a lot more to it than that. They have to program the Immobilizer code from the car to the key, or something like that. You need the key code for them to cut the key, but you will need your other key to program the Immobilizer.

All the Service Manual says about this is: if the customer has lost their key, and cannot start their engine, contact Acura Customer Relations.

If you have your other key with you, then it will probably cost you around $50 or more. If you don't have your other key, the price goes up to around $200. These are ball park figures, but you can get an idea of the prices from them. Check with your dealer for actual pricing.
