Dude... use the search option. All of the answers you're looking for have been posted in various other threads here before (except the question about keeping your mirror turn signal lights on but that's already been answered).

You have over 60 posts bro, you know how this thing works. If a thread turns into a "re-post-a-thon" it'll get locked fo-sho.

Question

So what k are the 2007 TL-S hid headlights. im looking to get some hid's for my foglights and i want them to match as much as possible. Are they the same as the 04 -06? I know that its an h8 bulb from the OP but i just want to make sure they dont look retarded by not matching.

Thanx in advance

I was going to buy these like TLFourplay did, but the guy is sold out of the H8 bulbs http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...0255832&rd=1,1

So I did a search on yahoo and found these http://store.racinglab.com/noarwhprohah2.html, which seem to be the same, but wasn't sure if they were the same wattage. I noticed that the bulbs TLFourplay got were 35w draw and a 55w output. These bulbs from racinglab.com don't say anything about draw and output.

So my questions are:
1.) Can wattage vary in H8 bulbs?
2.) If so, what wattage bulb do I get if they don't reference draw or output (35w or 55w)
3.) Will the bulbs from racinglab.com (above link) work on my '07 TL base.

I ordered the fog lights. I already saw the post on the clear headlight mod, But it would be much easier if I could just buy a clear cover. TLfourplay. did you install all the mods yourself? Also where do you buy them all from?

There is no such thing as a clear cover. If you want cleared headlights you have to bake em. bottom line. I did every mod mysefl yes. I have done so many it would take me a while, just tell me what you are interested in knowing and I can answer those individually. For the most part I just did extensive research before buying each thing to make sure I was getting the best deal.

I've seen some posts where people buy an extra set of light assemblies to bake and send them to someone that's already done the mod. You may be able to find someone to do this for you... try sending a PM to dave_88 - he's expressed some interest in doing this for people.

This guy is selling some cleared ones... but they're not in the best shape:

I'm sure that there are more options out there; I just did a quick search in the Black Market. Here's a link if you haven't checked it out: https://acurazine.com/forums/black-market-8/

Did you install them yet? I ordered mine last week from racing lab. I'm pretty excited to do the replacement.

I noticed they don;t seem to output as much light, but was more interested in matching the HID color anyway. Do they get that much hotter than the stock bulbs? almost all lights expend a great deal of heat thats where most of the 55 watts goes to.

They dont output the as much light on the road stock is better for a output. Nokya bulbs i had them on for about 5 minutes i couldnt put my hand on the fog light lens it burns man so i said i am not taking no chance with these bulbs it will burn out something.so i put back the stock bulbs till i dont find something better.
but they are the best match so far to HIDs headlights

I'm interested to know who else replaced their fog lights with the Nokya Arctick White 7000k H8 bulbs. Did you think they got too hot? How much more hot did they get compared to the stock?

2) The fogs are higher up, thus more light distributed in front of you.
Our old Accord had the low mounted fogs, and they we're all but useless even with stock halogen headlights. 04/06 fogs are effective, even with HIDs.

3) an HID kit is PnP...

I think the new fogs are more for looks than function given thier ineffectiveness.

and you can add an aux port for about $100... You're doing OK with your 2006.
Noticed your point has been ignored ... so for whatever it's worth, I agree! Also:

1) "Ugly Yellow" bulbs work much better in fog than "Cool White" ones do.

2) Fog lights should be used in fog/rain/snow, and (in general) not at other times. I have to add the "in general" because the TL's fogs are useful on really dark roads, to provide added illumination to the sides of the roadway. But people who have them "always on"... ... I'm thankful more cars don't have the rear fogs (one or both taillights brightened) that many European cars have nowadays!

This is a great site and there are some terrific cars here, but I just can't buy into the "form over function" mindset that seems to prevail here sometimes.

Very true point. I suppose my only reasoning is that the HiD's are bright enough anyways I was never really in any type of fog or inclement weather or whatever where I needed actual fog lights. I didn't know until after I put the bulbs in that it was actually a little less light output in those circumstances but it really didn't bother me. Honestly form over function I probably shouldn't have cleared my headlights either, probably should have left the reflector. But once again the function was so minimal, perceived by me as an acceptable loss. Great point though and something for people to consider.

Hey, thanks for the thoughtful reply ... I was afraid I might get flamed. Your TL-S looks VERY good, so I sure can't argue with the results. Have fun on the autobahn!

Anyways, I bought these "Nokya Arctic White Pro Halogen 7000k H8" bulbs off of ebay for something like 15 bucks shipped. Couldnt be happier with the look. They match the HID's very well, no more pee yellow fog lamps. I replaced the driver bulb in the pics to show the difference.

That my friend is the process called headlight clearing. If you look in the 3G garage, there are about 3 or 4 DIY threads on it. I am gonna be clearing mine myself as soon as Umnitza(an angel eyes company) comes out with angel eyes for the 3G TL. I emailed them last week and they said it should be on their website for this coming week.

So, did anyone ever try the PIAA TERA 6000K Ultra White LED bulbs?? They apparently fit H8 and H11. I know a few asked questions about it, but it appears like they were ignored. lol! I'm actually thinking of getting those immediately 'cause the gay yellow likes are bugging me. I'm all about LED's when I mountain bike, so the whole "TERA" new technology LED marketing crap is slowly creeping its way into my head. lol

Yes, two members mentioned about getting it, but none seemed to have pulled through. In addition, no one responded to their comments... lol! Anyway, I found a seller in SoCal, but what's holding me back is the fact that this supposedly new "TERA" technology isn't widely used yet... I'd hate to be the guinea pig and spend $100 on worthless bulbs...eh. Oh well...I'll think about it over the weekend and make a decision. Oh, and i'm just concerned about blinding other drivers form a distance...LED's are bright as fudge! We'll see.

Oh, and I promise to upload pics if I get them installed.

Nokya Arctic Bulb Replacement

I also bought the Nokya bulbs and installed them. They are much closer to the HIDs, but they do have a reduced brightness on the pavement. Has anyone mentioned removing the metal circular harness that they fit into? Would this increase the light emitted to the road? Your thoughts.

Okay, so I've finally decided to go with the Hoen brand, but before I place the order...can someone please confirm whether or not the '07 TL-S is an H8 or H11?? I hear H11 and H8...are they supposed to be compatible? If so, which would be best from the two?

Defiantly the H-8. I put a set of Nokya 7000k H8's and they are much whiter then stock but as someone else had mentioned they seem to put out less light.

I totally agree. Whiter but less light on the pavement. I wonder if it's because of the 7000k output. I know as you climb in numbers you get less light output.
I wonder if a bulb rated at 5000k would put out that much more light since about 5000k is the output of the HID's?

Also does someone know what would happen if the deflector was removed?

Okay, so I've placed the order on a Hoen Xenonmatch H11 bulbs...yes, H11. I confirmed with the guys at Hoen and they said that the H8 and H11's are pretty similar and that one guy puchased the H11's and it fit perfectly fine. In addition, some other members bought H11's for their 07 TL-S so maybe they take both. Oh, and the H8's are 35w whereas the H11's were 55w, so I figured why not go with the higher factory wattage, eh? I'll post pics as soon as I get them and installed. Btw, the higher the kevlin doesn't necessarily mean you'll lose light output...it's the coating to reach a certain color that blocks out most of the lumens. Less coating = less lumens blocked, therefore, leading to a brighter road. Again, I bought the xenonmatch bulbs because they're rated at 4000k AND are at factory 55w, unlike some that goes above it. The pictures on the site also helps with the buying decision, eh. Can't wait to get the yellow out! =P
