Replaced fog lamps in 07 TL-S (pics)

So according to the manual the S takes hb3 fog lamp bulbs.. WRONG!!! They are actually 35w H8 bulbs. WTF!! I need to call acura about that. Also FYI they say 7443 for the turn signal bulbs.. WRONG!! They are 1157. Of course in both instances I bought the bulbs prior and completely removed to replace. Oh well.

Anyways, I bought these "Nokya Arctic White Pro Halogen 7000k H8" bulbs off of ebay for something like 15 bucks shipped. Couldnt be happier with the look. They match the HID's very well, no more pee yellow fog lamps. I replaced the driver bulb in the pics to show the difference.

Looks great bro!! How hard was it to change the bulbs? Did you have to take off the whole front bumper?

remove 3 10mm bolts and one push plastic thingy on each side and you can move the bottom part of the inner fender well plastic trim out of the way enough to reach your hand in there and replace the bulbs.

thanks man. Yeah the springs are awesome. I just cant believe how much they have changed the demeanor of the car, it just looks so MEAN. I cant believe how good the ride is too, I have it set at 8 clicks from the softest setting per the instructions all the way around for now and its basically factory ride. Wow, I wonder what the plushest setting would feel like. Were really simple to install, maybe took about 2 hours for the entire install, including adjustments at the end. I will get a whole thread going this weekend with a ton of pics and stuff. I have more stuff in the mail should all be here by this weekend..... top secret for now...

Your car is coming along quite nicely. Seems as if your the only Type S owner with the balls to mod.

Did you clear the headlights yourself or did you pay to have them done? How much did it cost if you paid?

FWIW, you cannot run HID's in your fogs without a seperate standalone harness.

I tried a 3000K HID retrokit on my Odyssey (35W H8 fogs as well), but since the fogs are only 35W, the "inrush" when HID's are turned on approaches 60W... which will blow your fuse.

If you do HIDs, get a kit that sells a relayed harness with it.

I got back from Iraq 3 months ago and we have been getting a lot of time off, I had a four day weekend last weekend and I did a lot then. Plus I had the first TL in TN so I really wanted to get on the ball with doing stuff to it so it would be unique, and hopefully the first TL-S with all this done to it....

I did them myself. It is easy, dont be afraid to do it. You just have to have balls and patience. I do everything on my own car, only things I havent done yet are mount the tires to rims adn alignment. Things I cant do... Well I know how, just I dont have an alignment rack at my apartment. lol

Good info, I contemplated getting a retro kit but I just figured screw it, they are basically only for looks. They dont really make any difference, they are about the same output as stock, just a dfferent color. Worth every penny though. I cant stand nice cars with HiD's but halogen fogs. Especially the 300's, they look so crappy with their fogs on.

With your headlights being cleared I know you replaced the turn signal bulbs with 1157 ambers. Did you use regular amber bulbs, or did you use 1157 LEDs? By the way, I'm a SSG in the Army also and I'm stationed in Korea. I'll be back home in Jan. so I'm trying to buy everything for my car now, so I can have my own late Christmas gifts waiting to open. I'm actually going to trade in my '05 TL for an '07, but I getting a base model instead of the Type-S. That's pretty much why I'm asking these questions because I'm going to do the same mods you've done.

Awesome man. Yeah I got some silverstars to replace the regular 1157's. I think though that I am going to get some LED's to put in thre instead. I dont really like the silverstars in there too much.

Looks good, those ronjons are hot. Post some night time pics of your new fog light bulbs and your hid's. I am undecided between these bulbs and the ones HOEN has to offer.

Wow, those are hot. I am really diggint the two tone look of those, it would be hot to paint the black portions anthracite on an anthracite car. I would love to see those on NBP

Not meaning to resurrect an old thread but I just got around to reading the whole thing. It started to look like a place for everybody in the Army to chime in so I wanted to say hey to my "co-workers". I'm trying to represent Acura drivers on Fort Hood. Not my favorite of duty stations but it's better than Afghanistan and Iraq. TLFourPlay - good luck getting back to Germany. I just left Italy and am wishing I stayed for another 4 years.

Yeah I painted the turn signal bulb housing black. Half of the TL-S headlights are already blacked out but I just painted that section.

Actually I pulled the DRL fuse so they just never come on. If I could get them to have the HID look instead of piss yellow I would but they get such low wattage that even with whit bulbs in there they still look piss yellow so I disabled them all together. I put a blown fuse in there just in case there was any insurance liabilities if I got ina wreck or whatever. You never know.

Just ordered my H8 lights like yours. Also planning to do the same to my DRL's, they annoy me. Also had thought about running a separate wired relay, so I could turn them on at full wattage.
