Replaced 5AT ?
Replaced 5AT ?
So, I read on another thread that when Acura replaces your transmission , they paint the bolts blue that are on the transmission / surrounding parts. My CarFax shows no replacement , butttttt every bolt near the transmission is painted blue. Is there any way to verify it being replaced? I would like to know when/what mileage/ reason? Any response is is appreciated
Makes no sense that they would paint the bolts blue when doing a trans, but various bolts/plugs on our TL are blue and we purchased the car (2007-32k miles) no mechanical work has ever been done.
Some companies mark the bolts to indicate that they are torqued to spec during the manufacturing process.

Yes Honda/Acura paints the bolts blue on their reman units....Carfax is not going to show a lot of service on the car. it may be listed as "transmission serviced" When the trans was replaced in my 02 CL-S under warranty, the reman unit had blue bolts
take VIN talk to your local Acura dealer, they will have access to ALL warranty work performed on car.

I'm not sure which Acura it would have been done at, but I'll try. I know there's some Acura techs on here, I bet they'd know if that's what the blue bolts mean for sure. Plus, I forget what bolt it is, but one on the top of the tranny has marks from being torqued, so I guess that's a good sign.
