Looking to buy a new shift knob but I read on here that if it s not the factory one the boot will fall down.. Is there a aftermarket shift knob out there that has the clip so I dont have to mod the boot.

 

I dont think there is. Someone made a few custom ones a while back but he doesn't do em anymore. You can put a zip tie around the shifter under the collar to keep it from sliding down. Or you can do what I did and cut the shifter down about an inch and then use a countersunk knob. My boot can't go anywhere now.

It is discontinued...and has been for a long time, but I was able to locate a few of them. Try locating it using the part number...you never know where they can turn up.
