Any holes? (usually the logo has them, letters no, but dont quote me on that).
Didn't want to remove the logo, just the letters. And I think you're right, the logo usually is mounted with studs into the body.
Now, I really make em wonder what kind of car it is...

I believe on the older version they where just held on with double sided tape. We removed them off my friends 99TL and there where no holes. If you want to remove them just put a blow dryer to the letters to heat up the double sided tape. Then take dental floss and run it between the letter and the body of the car and it will take them right off. Then you will need either “wax” or “gue gone” to remove the sticky stuff.

Far from it, I love the element of surprise. The fealing of being lined up at the light with somone who has no IDEA!
Flying down the interstate, crusing at 95, all they Know is that it was a Acura that passed them. When all those pepole start to call the police, Somone just passed me going too fast. The officer ask what they were driving, I think it was green! >; )

Looks Great
Copter - I love the look - how bout some details - how'd you get em off? I've used fishline as a dental floss to pull lables off of a couple of motorcycles - then cleaned surface. Let us now how you did it - thnx.

Hope this helps.
Leave the "A" alone
I am glad, I am not the only who doesn't like the words on the car. If someone wants to know what I am driving they should know or they can find out on their own. Plus I don't like the additional advertising.
The dealer is taking the word ACURA and TL off the car and no dealership decal will be put on the car.

Yeah... all that work and the lousy tag holder has acura and the dealer's nname all over it. How much are they paying you to advertise for them?
I love going to buy a car and telling them just before signing the paper to take all mention of the dealership off the car. Cracks me up to see how they get pissed off about that.

Hey Mickey Mouse,
The dealer was willing to take Acura and TL off your car? How much are they charging to do this? Does anyone know id all dealers are willing to do this? Seems like dealers would not want to do this because they are losing free advertising.

True. A lot cleaner look without the 2 plates. I read somewhere that in Europe, Germany specifically, the people are offered the option to remove the model designation on their cars at BMW and MB dealerships. Something about Germans not being comfortable flaunting a class society, unlike some other country we know.
Nice look, copter! It would look much better with the "A" off, but I understand how that would leave unsightly holes.
As for the dealer logo, luckily the dealer uses a sticker and I took it off almost the SECOND I pulled up in the driveway.

The Acura logo on the trunk does have the two holes behind t. I removed the letters and wanted to see what was behind the logo. Any ideals on how to fill in the hole? I stuck the logo back on the car and it has not came off, but i really want to get rid of it. Has anyone thought about changing out the front grill with a billet grill? I'm looking into haveing one made.

I can see taking the word "ACURA" off as it is redundant with the logo. However, having the "TL" remain is informative and subtle. That's the look I would go for (just the logo and the "TL", with no writing on the license frame) if I would do anything at all. Actually, it all depends on how you feel about such things. I think enthusiasts might say "hmmm, cool" while the other 99% out there would probably ask you why you changed the way the car came and say to themselves "hmmm, too much time on your hands?"

YES!!!! the car looks MUCH better with the letters removed. The logo is needed for the design, tho.
I have always "debadged" my cars. The car is designed without badges, and then they are added later, spoiling the clean design. I took a huge load of stuff off my Solara, and it looked SO much better later. I took off the TL's letters yesterday, and am very happy with the results.
They have it right - saw through the mounting foam with fishline or non-lubricated dental floss, and then rub off the remaining adhesive. I believe that NO badges use studs any longer to avoid rust holes!
