Anyone else done this yet?

It's a video. You gotta click it to start I think.

I hear that. We've got one on our Porsche 996 and it's slammed and we track it. It's never gotten ripped off but I'm sure the day will come!

I've seen it posted here before, but not sure if anybody actually did it. There's a manual flip one that I might consider.

so what's the point? you get pulled over and when the cop is behind you making his way to your vehicle, flip the switch real quick and say he's seeing things when he says he's pulling you over for not having a front plate?

I would just run no front license plate. Slammed cars with that isn't a good combination.

Sucks for people that live in states that require front plates.....oh wait I live in one ;-) either way though I have never once had a front plate on any of my cars and never get hassled. No front plate for me!

lol here in california, if you get a parking ticket, your automatically issued a no front license plate ticket with it as well if you dont have one.. and this is only from parking enforcement.

Its been done before. I installed it on a friends car. I would not get this for a lowered TL.

swift motorsport FTW !!! sold it after couple weeks of owning it on Craigslist

and for all the people who are saying will get ripped off, for lower cars, i highly doubt that....

if you see carefully the plate doesnt "swing out"....it slides and flips....

the plate sits very flush.....

why i sold it ? at high speeds the plate kinda fluttered and if you pulled it out it hits the bumper

Ya thats mine ... still on the car and never had a clearance problem since I did it a couple years back. ... I have seen a couple of the ones mentioned and they need more clearance , close to an inch, than mine which is just over 1/4" in the retracted position. Also the few I saw on Corvettes the mechanisms were pretty visable in the retracted position.

I live in Washington State. The State Patrol is sticklers on the front plate. I haven't run a front plate in years. My wife got nailed this past November while driving the TL by a stater. That's why I installed it.

Here was the original version....
