Finally getting the tint on my TL. It was a choice between getting tint or getting a custom exhaust with magnaflow mufflers. I chose the tint because I can't stand the fishbowl look no longer!

Getting 20% all around. I was thinking 5% all around but then I gained some sense and settled on 20%. Wish we had 15% here! Pictures will be up tonight!

Be careful with which kind of tint they use to cover the back glass specifically, because according to our owner's manual if any kind of tint that uses metal particles in it is applied then we will get a severe loss of GPS signal because the Navi's antenna is located in the rear deck

Sick dude!, looks great. Yeah I'm getting tired of the fishbowl thing too, I really like the 20% all around. Definitely gonna get this done in the spring when I bring the TL back out. She Don't like the winter here in Utah.. Snow, is no bueno...when you 3" off the ground.

Looks good. I want to tint my SSM but here in Chicago the ticket's for tint's is $250 now, up from $75 about a year ago. I had 20% all around on my 02 Accord and got a $250 ticket last year. If I put some on they'll have to be lighter than 20%...

nice tint, can i ask how much you paid for it?

i have 20% all around, but 35% on my front driver and passenger window. i really liked it when i first got it, but than i realized you can still see in the car during the day with 20%. also when you are standing behind my car and look through the back windshield you can see through easily.... i don't like that.

i wished i would have went with 5% all around and 20% for my front 2 windows instead.

I paid $200 for it and get lifetime warranty. Its $170 usually but I got the visor+tax it came out to be $200. 20% is okay its a little light. It was cloudy today and it looked nice and dark but when the sun was shining the drivers side was easily visible. On my BMW the 20% with the dark interior makes it almost look like 5%. From the front of the car even in the sun you can barely see inside but on the TL with the sand interior you can easily see inside. I will get some more pictures tomorrow.

Nice. I just bought an '08 PMM TL and I really wanna go with 35% tint, but we have asinine tint laws here in MN so I need to figure out how much tickets are just in case.

what ???? and i thought paying $25 for inspection was a lot for a tint ticket. i recently got pulled over by CHP for my fronts, gotta remove it. i have 15% . SSM looks REALLY nice with the tint

got a fix it ticket for my 50% fronts while parked at a park and ride yesterday! so dumb when CHP has nothing else to do but scour park and rides...gonna pay this one but if it happens again there goes the front tint. to everyone that can run fronts with no problem i'm jealous!

if anyone thinking about tints...get it! they make the car look so much better in general (even if only back)

Some more pictures. Stopped on a random road to take them . 20% is nice and dark but not dark enough for me. If I had to do it again I would have gone with 5% all around. Sometime in the near future I am getting my windshield tinted at 35%. I also blacked out the Acura A emblems.

The last picture is the visor strip. The strip is 5%.

Tint Laws
This is why I gotta love my new home. Indiana lets you have 30% all around, which should be plenty dark with my black interior.

for me its 5% or nothing, when they retinted my windows after replacing them, they used the wrong percentage, and i could tell instantly. God I love Florida plates and being in the Military.

Good stuff... but yeah .. exactly.. this is why I always tell people who have light interiors to get 15%... or else on a bright sunny day its gonna look like you have 35% tints all around. What you could do to make it better is to tint your front windshield 50%. That will make your car appear darker by a decent amount.... not to mention the added benefit of easy and less strain on the eyes during sunny days.

How do you all see at night when backing up? I had 25% on one of my last cars in the rear window and it made it quite difficult to see when backing up at night. I have been tempted to finally tint my '05, but I was going to go with 35% all around.

I have no problems seeing out at all. . Maybe it was bad tint? Not sure.... but to me 20% is fine when backing out/merging/etc.

I had 20% all around in my old car and found it to be too dark at night. So I went with 30% on the sides and 20% on the rear windshield on my 07 TL. It's perfect at night, but not quite dark enough when the sun is setting.

looks nice! I got 30% and sometimes I wish I had got 20%. If I were to ever need it redone I would get 20%. Not feeling the 5% visor strip though...

Don't drive in north jersey, you'll get nailed immediately. They're pretty strict here about window tint, the front driver & passenger side & any tint on windshield they see and you'll get stopped. On rte 287 I've had local cops & NJSP Troopers pull up next to me because my rear windows are dark ready to stop me, but they don't after seeing my front windows don't have tint.

Does anyone have pictures of 20% all around and 35% on the front windshield? I'm looking to do the front windshield on my car. I already have 20% all around.

OP what 3k HID kit are you running in your fogs? Awesome yellow. Mine are looking neonish, not the look i was going for.

This is my '08 6MT TL-S with 20% all around. I want the yellow fogs, I'm just weighing my options as to whats the deepest darkest yellow. What did you use? I like the depth in that color. I'm thinking I want a 3000k kit + 3M overlay.

Is this for specific years or does it apply to all 3G? And I thought the GPS fin is on the roof... is that not correct?

Do TLs have a problem with scratching tint? I never had this done on my previous vehicle and didn't have a problem (unless they did it without letting me know), but I'm getting my tint done soon.
