Relocating the front plate

Relocating the front plate
okay, i've been asked this question countless times (how do you mount your plate like that???), so i decided to finally make a thread to direct people to rather than repeating myself over and over.
if you want to mount your plate like this you should
1) call your local autozone and ask if they have this: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...er=761575_0_0_
2) go pick it up (you'll only spend about $10!)
3) unpack it and test fit it before drilling
4) i forgot what size drillbit to use, but start out small and work your way up. drill upwards into the bumper in the desired location (mine is mounted in the middle of the driver side lower grille) i made sure there was nothing behind the bumper to accidentally damage, so this is the ideal location to drill
5) use either the pointy threaded screws or the nut/bolt combo (both included in the set) and mount the bracket
6) adjust the angle of the bracket to your desired angle
7) mount the plate using included hardware (i left out the tacky chrome covers that go over the bolts in the front cuz they look kinda lame but u can use them if you want to...
8) enjoy driving around without the eyesore of the OEM plate holder AND don't worry about fix it tickets!
if you show your car or take pics of it and dont like the plate on, you can simply remove the plate and bracket and since you drilled upwards into your bumper, there are NO UGLY HOLES! woot!

i have had it for about 6 months and im very pleased with it. currently the bottom of my plate sits very close to my aspec lip (like less than 1 inch) and the bracket doesnt even allow the plate to hit the lip at highway speeds. you can see how close it is in the pic i posted above. there are no visible marks of any contact between the plate and the lip. it is made out of some sort of metal, so its not plastic. the only thing is that the bolts that hold the license plate up are getting a little rusty, but its not terrible and not something i'm worried about
you should just pick one of these up to be different. i actually think it could be considered an aesthetic mod

im probably gunna be doin this mod soon thanks to this post so thank you chinkwapin but had a couple concerns/questions.
not really sure but, driver side = air intake? and left side = ? like sixsixfour said about blocking the openings, i wouldn't wanna do that so would it be better if it was placed on the passenger side? just looking for the best location..

you can just bolt the mount to the bottom two holes of the plate instead of the top two if you're worried about blocking the intake hole, similar to how bforbrian mounts his
i'm pretty sure he's had it on the drivers side higher up, but he changes shit so often i could be wrong.

i see well i guess for those of us that worry can just put a thin rubber lining on it also

I picked up black round Velcro tabs w/sticky on one side and put 2 on the back of my plate and 2 on my bumper 90% of the time I run w/no front plate but when I'm misbehaving I stick it on just to satisfy the man.

but when you're not running the plate cant you see the velcro tabs? and if you decide to remove them later, they may be a sticky residue left on your bumper.. not my cup of tea but i guess it works!

Just did this 2 weeks ago, thanks for posting this.
I was actually considering dropping 60 dollars on a RHO-plate.
This thing cost me 9$ at autozone, and is much more versatile and in my opinion, looks much better.
