i was wondoring if my 04 tl would be able to fit a 07 tl s tailight, and another question, if i buy TL s taillights from amazon does it come with the LED pad? because my cars led pad is running out one by one, im just seeing if buying it online as a whole taillight is cheaper then just getting the LED pad itself.

 

The TL-S light will fit fine on your 04, but it doesn't come with the LED panel, which you would typically swap from your existing light- if you have a decaying LED pad, you'll need a new one.

You could probably get one cheaper aftermarket, but I probably wouldn't- stick with OEM.

 

i actually prefer the all red 04-06 tail lights. the type s ones have an altezza look.

 

Eh, they do? It's a dark gray bezel with all red lenses. I don't see how that's altezza look. Too much red in the older tails.

 

To each his own. I think the all red is boring, but that's me. No judgement.

 

I think they look fine on the Type S with the matching rear side marker. The 07-08 tails look the worst IMO, during the daytime the lights pink. I'm just not a fan making a non type S TL into a Type S. Just buy a Type S.

the Houston crew is having a meet this saturday. while having modified tails look cool, mine stand out the most! I'll grab a pic of our asses .

 

like stated before go with oem on everything on the led panel, and taillights just to be safe those aftermarket stuff will work but for how long who knows and fitment isn't always the best

I agree, but I think you meant to say, it has the cheap egay jdm euro altezza tail lights look. I've always loved clean basic looking lights, front and back. too much things going on and it just looks like it wants to be a space ship or whatever. I'm glad my taillights are all red and after seeing that comparison picture, its gonna stay that way no matter how many people keep telling me to swap them out. just my 2 cents, just do whatever floats your boat.

 

I actually like the white and red tail lights on a 08 WDP TL. I was thinking of switching mine to the TLS tail lights because I do love the TLS look and feel but I just could not stand the interior red lights and gauges. That was a deal breaker for me along with the two tone leather. So to me making the outside look like a TLS but having my spin was easier and better than to redo my leather to single black and switching all the lights to blue. I am still looking for a WDP TLS spoiler to put on my car since that spoiler always looked sexier to me than the others.

 

That was a sort of deal breaker for me too ^ (int lights and two tone) but I would have dealt with it if I could have found a KPB in my 2 day time period.


They will fit and do what you want with your tails. They all can look good if it fits your theme. Cleared out would be the only no no I can think of. Good luck

I can see the taupe/ebony interior as being something that people may not like because the huge difference between the very light gray and the black, but I'm still really surprised at how people don't like the all black ebony interior of the Type S because its "two tone". Infact, I'm sitting in my car now and the silver seat insert is so dark, in some lighting conditions is barely distinguishable between the black next to it. In my opinion, the 07/08 Type S ebony interior is the best looking 3G interior. Love the black pillars and headliner too, and I think the dark silver seat inserts match the "carbon fiber look" aluminum trim perfectly. Very nicely done interior.

Funny you say that. I find the red much easier on my eyes at night time. It was something that I missed when I had my beemer years ago, was the red dash lights.

 

I really like the super RED tail mods in the other thread. I don't know I like it simple. Here is my 04 6spd WDP. No spoiler with red tails.

Red does not contrast well with Silver at all.
