Steps to buying car:

a) Wait until next year. Something newer and better will be coming out
b) Next year: see step a)

The 07 will probably have just a minor change. If the new tail lights and the signal light side mirrors are the only changes, I wouldn't mind go buy those parts back and install them onto my 06.

Just enjoy the car and stop worrying, you can also get what ever new parts they put on the 07 and just upgrade your 06 with them or you can trade in you 06 for an 07. Enjoy you new ride and congrats on the new purchase.

I just bought mine last week and got a pretty good deal on it.

If you wait for the 07, the price will not be cheap.

Anyway, there are no drastic changes so don't worry.

Enjoy your new car

I went through the same remorse after buying one about a month ago. But I love driving this car too!

I figure that if I kept waiting for new models to come out, I'd never get one.

at least its just a refresh of our model and not a brand new model, cuz that would suck.

LOL. Congrats on the car and be happy with what you have! Every year you'll go through the same thing if you can't get over that mindset!

Picked up my 06 Navi A Spec 2 weeks ago and I love it. I don't think I will regret the purchase even when the 07's come out.

im a nissan guy myself...but i still say TL > the new G35 sedan in everything but power.

ext/int styling, navi, etc is better in the TL. now the g35 coupe is a diff story.

I love the TL when it first came out in '04 but seeing what infiniti has installed for the g35 in 07.. I had to give in.. The TL is like seeing a hot girl on the street but her skin isn't as good.. 07 G35 is a hotter girl with less imperfections.

I am a car nut and started shopping for a new car in 2003. I even got quotes on the 2nd gen TL-S and Maxima when the current Maxima and TSX came out. Then the RX-8 came out, and then the 3d gen. TL. I finally decided to get the 2005 TL in April 2005 before the 2006 BMW 330 came out.
No regrets! Don't worry about new models; you've got a great car now!

What is the diffrence between the '05 and '06? I am thinking about trading my '05 in for the '06 b/c of the ipod interface.

Talking You'll have something to Look Forward to in '09

I was in a similar situation in late '03...the '04s were just arriving at the dealers, but because I could get a great deal on an "03, I bought a black Type-S TL...I have loved the car and have had absolutely no problems w/ it...in fact, I am probaly going to get the '07 Type-S if it does truly have the J35 engine w/ ~295 HP....they may not be beemer busters, but they are great performance/Lx values...I think w/ gas prices going nothwards still, you'll have one of the better performance machines that gets decent gas mileage...have fun!!!

I know it's an old thread but I just picked up my 2006 TL - sure the 07 was beautiful but I got an awesome deal on the 06. The dealer was practically giving it away!

Back when I looked, it was about $32K for 06 TL with NAVI or 07 TL without. Somehow the minor updates to the 07 didn't add up to the Navi on an 06.

I couldn't imagine not getting a TL w/o Nav, but that's just me. Either way, I was feeling a bit the way the original poster was feeling when I got my first good look at the 07s on the website. I'm a sucker for fog lamps, so that bites a little, but what burns me the most is the inclusion of an aux input... as is I use a cassette adapter to play my MP3 player and it's annoying, sound quality definately isn't at its best.

However, like several have already said, I still have a great car... and besides, if I really want something newer I can wait 3-4 years; warranty will be up and they'll have had a chance to work out any bugs from the '09s. For now I'm just going to enjoy what I have.

I bought my 06 TL back in July and I love her! ( Thats right I name my car ) I was checking out cars like BMW 3 and 5 series, Lexus IS250, 350, RX330, G35 and so on. But at the end of the day I picked the TL. Well I was in your same shoes when I was out looking for cars. But if you have that mind set you will never have a car because the new model or a better car will be around the corner. Congratz on the new TL! You will love the car.

I absolutely dont regret not waiting for the '07 TL. I sort of regret at least not looking at the '07 g35. Still would have made the same choice most likely, but more on price concerns than outright desirability. Either way Im very happy with the '06 TL.

My old car (not an Acura) used to eject the Cassette Adapter, so I was stuck using an FM modulator. It was cheap and would drift after about 30 minutes! Plus it needed its own power-cord.

But that beats how things are in the U.K.. -- FM modulators won't be legal until next Friday (Dec 8th)! They'd been banned 'till then because they were considered 'radio stations' . Then again, given the sound quality issues, maybe that wasn't such a bad thing.
