Rebuilt title 07 TL-S

I came across this on autotrader here in utah. Now i've went and checked out the car, that dealership said that it was all cosmetic damage. They replaced the front right fender, hood, bumper, right head light. Now they are asking $21,750.

Would any of you pick this up. I'm asking because i'm in the market for a type-s and well...utah only have two acura dealerships and honestly the parking lot at work have more cars than they do. i am giving this some deep consideration, one because its about 6-9k cheaper, they are willing to sell warranty. Any input and advice?

my advice would be don't do it, but thats only because there are pains associated with a car that has a rebuilt title

ask them if they can provide a copy of the repair bill and parts replaced for the repair. That way we can determine if it really is worth it. It sounds like it rear ended someone with a tow hitch...

Not a smart move buying a rebuilt title for a relatively new TLS. Remember rebuilt title voids the factory warranty.

trying to look for a used one, but all the nice type-s are like on the east coast or something... shipping alone would probably be 1k

I have heard this before also, However I have one question, how exactly does the dealership know this? Do they run a carfax on every vehicle that comes in for service? Sorry in advance if there is an obivous answer...its late....lol.

well in most state, by law they have to tell you whether if its a clean title, or a rebuilt or a salvage title. when i first talked to them they told me right away that it was a rebuilt and that was why it was so cheap. but i've been looking... 08' type s for 32k... so who's a math wiz that can figure out all the taxes and stuff for this thing??

Are you referring to that White TL-S with regular TL rims?

okay, that has to be the worst color match I have ever seen. Pass on that thing. If they didn't even make an effort to match the paint correctly, then what else didn't they screw up on it

i wouldnt make any real judgement about matching paint without looking at it in person under a few different lighting conditions....pictures can play tricks on your eyes...

as for a rebuilt/salvage title, the car isnt necessarily a totalled car, but one that the insurance company deemed a loss...the biggest problem with a salvage title is that you take a loss on the value of the car and your going to have to deal with it again when you try to sell the car....i personally wouldnt buy one, but if i never planned on selling the car i might consider it....

Rebuilt won't void warranty

Honda honored and fixed every problem that popped up on my honda odyssey van everything from a shock that was bad after the wreck that made it a salvage. They fixed the bad automatic sliding doors, oh yeah lets not forget about the crappy transmission of mine that was dying at 71,000 miles. My van was a 99 honda odyssey in 2001 that at the time was worth $28,000 not wrecked, which I bought for $18,000 with 17K miles on it with full warranty intact my van is still riding nice with 126K miles on it. But if you do buy it you need to know exactly what was fixed. Because if new body parts had to be welded stay away from it unless they knock even more money of it. Also keep in mind what will happen if you want to trade it you can forget about no dealer wants to take a salvage trade in.

that's because it wasn't flagged as salvage in the system. Acura's policy (rightfully so, I might add) is that Salvage Title = Warranty voided

Is that an Acura dealer selling a salvage car? I didn't think corporate would allow such a thing.

Salvage title usually also means that no one will give you a loan on the vehicle. I have always heard that it has to be a cash deal. For that reason, they should be selling that TL-S for like $16-18K.

There is no light issues or camera problems there. That is a really bad paint match. It's got red flags all over it.

Not sure but I think it was because it had to be inspected. It worked out for me because I still have my van and love it,but as I said just be careful when you buy because if you don't plan on keeping it you will take a hit when you go to sell it.

honestly i wouldn't trust it at all.. for it to have a salvage title, there was a lot more damage that just the hood/fender/headlight/bumper.. it's just asking for more problems later on. just my two cents.

The paint job is terrible. Didn't take time to do a color match, so I hope they did a better job on the repairs, but I doubt it.

Nice, good call not getting the salvaged one.
Auto or 6MT, and if you don't mind me asking what did you pay before TTL?
Also, get clear-bra ASAP, well worth the money.

i got the car 29,500 before everything. yea i'm getting her wrapped up this upcoming monday.
The accident was caused by a senior citizen that shouldn't of been driving. i was stuck at a redlight shootn' the shit with my buds when he was unable to step on the brake pedal. So i was stopped going northbound, he was going it southbound, crossed onto the northbound lane, hit me head on spun me 180 degrees, hit the surburban to my left, flew to the neon behind the surburban and as my car spun the back of my car clipped a mustang. Whew.
Well thats what the police report stated... wasn't really sure myself. But i'm lucky just came out with some bad ribs and seat belt bruising. so yea, acuras are really really really safe....trust me on that one.
