To rear wing or not to rear wing

I'm getting my A-Spec kit installed tomorrow and they ordered a rear wing for me. However, I'm still undecided on it. I havent seen too many pics of a car with the wing on, so that must a sign that it might not be a great look.

What do you guys think? Wing or no wing?

At this point I might just wait on it and install it later if I change my mind. I would hate to put it on and then regret it.

Rear deck lip. Adds just enough without being too much

Wing or not?

You decide, you didn't ask us our opinion on the color.

To lip is better than to wing The lip looks classy and more appropriate for a sedan. That being said, the wing is not so bad either! For me, sedans are all about lips and coupes are all about wings. There are worse wings available for other sedans however.

I like the wing. the only problem I have with the wing is that it makes the trunk heavy.

No wing. It just makes it harder to wash and wax the car.

Lip is classy without being overstated. Wing looks like something from back in the 70's, go look at the new Mustang and you will get the idea

I agree! Look at the new Japanese sport cars and all have lips other than wings.

I suppose it's up to the individual. you have to decide yourself if it is good or not. I have a wing on mine 06TL.

Hmm. I'm not sure I'd take inspiration from the Mustang as to what will look good on our cars.. But the way I see it, lip spoiler / no spoiler is more of a kinda "Euro" thing. Something to do on a VW, BMW, etc. I guess I felt like a "wing" fit with the japanese import heritage of the Acura.. and it is definetly not a shopping card handle or anything.

I did it because I didn't see too many like it. But it makes washing a huge pain, there is always cruft around the part where it meets the deck lid. Also it blocks visibility. The trunk doesn't feel any heavier, because if they do it correctly they install stiffer trunk springs.

No more wings for me... I've went through two sets of wings on my '98 CL. They were stolen both times at two different movie theaters. Don't want to have to deal with that again. But I do like the look of the lip spolier better.

Definitely lip. Goes great with the rest of the A-spec aero kit. Wing is too much for me.

well I saw a Mustang today and decided I didnt want to have the Mustang look on my TL. I dropped off my car about 40 min ago and had them leave the wing out.

I'll post pics as soon as I get my rims in which will be in about 3 months. Damn Volks take FOREVER.

I've pondered getting the rear wing taken off of my car... I purchased the car Certified Pre-Owned from Acura a few months ago, and they said it would cost 4-500 to remove it and get it fixed up and painted. Is that accurate? Has anybody had the rear wing removed from their car? I haven't got an actual quote anywhere. It's starting to grow on me, but if purchased the car new, I wouldn't get it.

They could run a key down your car too, does that mean you shouldnt paint it?....thats just plain vandalism.....its not like they would get a spoiler they could actually use or something? Guess I am missing the point there or live in the wrong...err....right area?

No Wing and No LIP.
It adds useless weight.Do you see that on Ferrari F430 or Lambo cars?
Why spoil the clean look?

Is it my eyeglass? I could hardly tell if the Lip spoiler is there or not.
With that money, I would put something bigger (Wing) which is a bit more noticeble.
But then, having no wing keep your money in your pocket and looks just as nice...

ok..., I have no money for lip or wing, heck I want the whole aspec....

I chose Lip deck, Lid deck watever it calls.
Spoiler looks very out of the place...too bulky for me.

Go with lip!
Though I am waiting for somebody to produce Carbon fiber trunk with curbed trunk line like A spec Concept trunk.

If anybody know, pm me.

Lip! Lid! the tiny one!

Well I agreed that it depend on what area you live in...but people now a day do stupid thing...some time when your car look too nice then they get jealous and wanted to trash it...but also if you think about it...why did they come out with the lip spoiler if the regular wing works? mayb it just for the look or mayb just because alot of people have had the regular wing and had it stolen or maybe the lip look nice and is also secure!
