Rear Window Spoiler (Flame Suit On!!)

I know I know....

I'm gona get some flack and...

and
and
and
and
and maybe even some

over this. But I really, honestly think it would look good and not necessarily ricey.

I think i found something that would fit just right. Not sure cause I haven't received it yet. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping it will fit and curve right. I'll post pics as soon as I get it on there. Actually, after I get it on there and wash the car. I haven't had pics of my ride for a long time anyway. Wish me luck.... Please post comments on if you think it will be ricey or if you think there is a good possibility it will look good. Famous words of the guy in Fanstastic 4 "Flame on!"

I don't think he posted a pic. It probably would have made more sense to create the thread after installing the spoiler.

Thumbs up

I don't know what your car will look like with the rear window "visor". I believe that is what you mean by rear window spoiler. I know that I have seen one on a 2nd gen tl and it looked nice. It looked really sporty. It is all about taste, all about choices. If it is in your taste, it is your choice. I personally like them, and don't care if someone else likes it. I do what I like to do with my car. It is things like that that set your car apart from the rest. Mod on!!

I think it would look good. If it was humongous, then no. But if it was modest and done right, it could look great. Post pics when it is on, or test fitted. The 2nd gen one looks pretty good, this one might as well!

Hopefully the spoiler you purchased was a bit more subtle than the one above. I was thinking a bit more on the lines of this:

Ok guys, got it today and washed the car and put that baby on...

I like it, tell me what you guys think, please be brutally honest. Heres a couple pics...

First off, sorry I didnt get better pics. Kinda got lazy. Now i know that this is not a normal roof spoiler. I wanted it to be pretty small so that it does not look 'ricey'. After all, this is a TL. Besides, if it was any bigger it would start to cover up the high rear brake light. Anyway, it is a 45 inch universal spoiler made out of a very sturdy and pliable rubber. It can be painted to match the color of the car but I wanted to keep it black and save a shitload of money. It sticks on via 3M and its really strong too. Guess how much it costs????

25 bucks shipped....

Doesn't look too bad at all, but I think you should paint to match your car's color. I imagine it would looks much better with match paint. The price is super cheap!

or if not the color of the car, then the color of the two rubber channels that run on the roof

Not too bad for $25. Do you have any pics of it further away? Also did you need to cut it?

I do not currently have pictures that are further away. It is pretty small and kind of hard to see in a picture and i didnt have enough time. I'll get to some more pics in a day or two. It is very minimal, but I digg it! and no i didnt need to cut it. It is exactly 45 inches.

Why is there a roof spoiler in the first place? Who cares, it doesnt really matter.... but the real question is, why not? Supposedly, it should give downforce right? Hence the term, roof spoiler. But there would not be enough speed in the first place to give adequate downforce on a regular roof spoiler. The shape of this one even has more potential then a regular roof spoiler. Just the same, it is just for looks anyway. How else can you change the roofline?

it is the same color of the two rubber liners on the sides of the roofline. its pretty much the same type material.

Needs to be body color and the camera needs to be shot away from the car more so we can see if it goes along with the TL character.

i got it on ebay. pretty quick shipping. just look for a 45inch spoiler made of rubber. make sure it is pliable so that you can slightly bend it to the curve of the top of the window.

might look good with it being the body color but i have this kind of black and white theme. front grill is black, rims are dark colored and some of the other accessories as well. i wanted to paint my splash guards white to match the body but didnt have anytime to go look around for quotes. (ie. got lazy)

heres a pic of my front

Do you think 45.5 will fit? I found a few that size, but nothing at 45 exactly yet. Also, it says injection molded ABS material, is that what you have?
