Rear aspec lip

Do you really need to take off the bumper and make holes in it to put on the rear lip?

i just finished installing mine today..."technically", you don't have to. (You can rely on the 3M tape provided, plus the additional tape you've added, and rely on the screws that'd hold it by the inner fender plus the other screws/clips).

HOWEVER, taking off the bumper and drilling those holes are "key" to keeping the center part of the kit to not have gaps, and to keep the measurements of the fit in the right spot ...plus it is added security to keep the kit in place.

It's actually not bad taking the bumper off and drilling holes...i'm not handy at all, but i just followed the instructions to the tee, and almost put tears in my eyes when i was finished (lol). Just take your time, you'll be golden

If you can believe it...I put a base A-Spec rear lip on mine...and the fit was so snug that we didn't even use the double-sided tape! The only thing we did was screw the lip in into both wheel wells, and I've never had a problem.

^ I found my rear lip (Type-S) was very snug also. I actually had a tough time pulling the plastic to uncover the tape at the final step in the install. It was so tight to the bumper that one of the strips tore off while I was (slowly) trying to pull it out, even while pushing the bumper in to create a little more space. It was only the last couple inches so I'm not concerned about it. With all of the bolts/clips I don't see it coming loose.
