Random harness under the glovebox?

I was vacuuming out my car yesterday, and found a harness (female end) with nothing plugged into it just chillin' under the glovebox. It just hangs there, and I couldn't find a male plug that matches into it. Anyone have any ideas what it's for? I'll try to put up some pictures in an hour or so. BTW, car is an 04 Base No-Navi, if that makes a difference.

probably for the footwell lighting if you dont have the beauty panel garnish between your feet on the passenger side and the blower motor...

I wish the older years did have footwell lighting.

I thought all 04-08 TL came with the footwell lighting stock? It might be the plug for the backup sensor option, I think in the instruction manual, it recalls using a plug near the glove box

Does your glovebox light up when you open it? Maybe somebody unplugged it or went to change the bulb and knocked it out?

I'm sorry, I forgetted! Still haven't taken a pic, but no, I don't think my glovebox light comes on, and my trunk release is broked too! BTW, is there a write-up for how to fix the little lock switch for the trunk? I have the switch, which I found under the seat when I first bought the car off of CL, and there is just a hole where the switch should be.

Also, if anyone has a link for how to post pics, that'd be great. I kind of never learned how to do that correctly

if your trunk release is broken, the switch in the glovebox might be disconnected, which is the "extra" harness you're seeing.

Have you checked to see if the switch in the glovebox is connected? Or is that the switch you were talking about that you found lying around?

Look for a random plug and see if it fits.
