Radiator Question.

This whats going on!

So i bought my 05 TL Base Auto 6 month ago, Well i wanted to do a Radiator Flush because i didn't know when the previous owner did a maintenance, I did ask about few stuff to the owner but all he said "I guess u need to wait till 105k as Acura dealer told me" well i didn't want to wait so i did a Radiator Flush last Sunday.

OK so this is what i did:
I drain the radiator and then drain the engine block (Engine block was draining slow didn't need to use a hose)
Then to clean the radiator i use prestone flush & cleaner, I fill the radiator with prestone F&C and use a gallon of distilled water. I turn the car on with the heater on high for 10 min, turn off the car and wait for engine to cool a bit then drain the radiator and block again.
And then i fill the radiator with Honda Type 2 Coolant & reservoir (I use a gallon and half) i did it with the car on and left the radiator cap off to bleed air. so i went for a ride and when i came back home reservoir was at the low mark so i did fill up to the middle of lower & upper level. The i went for a ride at night and i check the reservoir it had a bit more from upper level.

OK what i have notice is that when i have the the recirculation button off heat from the engine comes in like if i have the heater on low.
Smell from the radiator comes in to but maybe is because i did throw water to the radiator.
Radiator fan turns on idk if it does it a lot.

Something i did wrong or its normal?

The car is not over heating or anything tho temperature gauge is always at the middle and i have use the car since i did the flush.

The recirculation button does just that, recirculates the air inside the cabin through the system, when it is off, outside air flows through the system as it should.

Keep an eye on the water level, check level in reservoir when cold, just to be certain there's no leak.

Might want to get an Owner's Manual and do so reading.

Get a hose and spray through the front grill and rinse the radiator good or it will smell like antifreeze for months pop the radiator cap when it's cold and check level

I agree with both of these guys. If you get into any other car and turn off the recirculation button and blower motor, the heat or cool air will still come in because it is somewhat being processed through as long as you are moving. This is a great way to save gas if it is neither too hot or cold out because the system is not completely on; the air is just naturally flowing through like a radiator being cooled while moving on the freeway. As for the smell, rinse the radiator and any area where some left over is located. Do not rinse a hot engine or radiator either! Keep a lookout for leaks everywhere (radiator, firewall by the heater core, etc.). Check that level for the next few days and focus on the temperature gauge. It may not be a bad idea to do a drain and fill again of Honda Type 2 just to ensure that all of the cleaner is out.

I did check the reservoir today when car was cold, Level is almost at the middle of Low & Full level. and just got a half gallon of Type 2 so i think ill do a drain & fill at 105k services if everything stay well, rite now im on 92k.

Using regular anti freeze in these engines are bad news always use type 2 from Acura Honda dealership. Flush regularly as well.

What is in type 2 honda antifreeze that makes it different from aftermarket antifreeze labeled for Asian vehicles?

I read someone said honda coolant is phosphate & silicate free but so is GM dex-cool.

Someone enlighten me please.
