Quick N Easy Performance Upgrades

just bought a black/black 2005 TL AT.... dam, its a sweet ride.

does nebody have a good quick n easy way to give this baby a few more horses w/o sacrificing warranty? im pretty much a klutz when it comes to fixing up a engine, so i ask for only upgrades that can be easily installed....

Check out the 3G garage, there's a lot of easy fixes that you can do for upgrade...
but to answer your question, removing the air intake silencer should help:

Congrats & welcome to the club!

If your car is brand new, then I wouldn't be so concerned how fast it is untill after the break-in period.
You are breaking it in correctly, aren't you?

The 1st thing you should do however, is get the Comptech sway bar installed IMMEDIATELY.

do you have the el42 tires? if you do the best way to improve performance is to replace those with a set of performance tires. adding intake or exhaust will net you a little horsepower but you will not really feel that huge a difference. the sticky tires will increase acceleration, handling and braking.

- change the air filter with the K&N OEM replacement ($40). https://acurazine.com/forums/ramblings-12/patent-law-103497/
- when you are ready to change your oil, change it to Royal Purple 5w30.
- add the wetter water additive to your coolant fron Redline (Royal Purple carries a similar product but i could not find it. got redline instead).
- change tires. i prefer the bigger ones (245/45/17). or bigger wheels and tires (245/40/18). https://acurazine.com/forums/religion-politics-18/psychops-using-heavy-metal-childrens-songs-interrogation-103587/

my dealer sells and installs aftermarket products. when they install it, it is covered under my warranty.

I second the swaybar suggestion! And third it... and fourth it. You can't go wrong with it.

Comptech Sway Bar, Intake, Exhaust, in that order if you want all three. And maybe a grounding kit, they do wonders in my experience.

Aftermarket is somewhat limited for the car, it's still fairly new.

I'd do:
-aftermarket air intake
-custom exhaust after the cats

Might be able to find another 20hp at the wheels.

By the way, some dealers might gouge you on the rear sway bar installation. David071 said that Stevens Creek Acura was going to charge him $240 for the sway bar installation so he went to Oakland Acura and had it done for $85 instead.

Isn' t the grounding kit like $1000?

What is everyone doing for exhaust? If I make a mod to mine, I want the most power for the least sound difference.......

Wait. Are you guys talking about the OEM ground effects kit (i.e. body kit) or a "grounding kit"?

If the former, then yes.

If the latter, not worth it.
