question for side mirror when back up the car

Today I sit on my friend 2003 Tl when he back up his car the 2 side mirror is move down for visible when back up the car and move back when he shift to D but with my Tl 06 i dont see that option when im driving. Isn't should the 3g Tl have that option too since is a newer model or my car doesn't has that option when purchased the vehicle please help. THanks

the mirrors will move down .. only 1 at a time .. you have to put the switch to the RIGHT OR LEFT MIRROR (the button you would use to select the mirror when you want to adjust its position) ...

if you have the DRIVERS side mirror selected it will go down when you put it in reverse.. same thing for the PASS side

Only the right mirror goes down in the 2G. It is not selectable.

Yup, definitely works in the 3G by selection. I use it everyday so I can park as close to the island strip in parking lots and avoid getting a ding by someone parking on the other side of me!

2003 TL-S I stopped using the passenger side mirror in the down position some weeks ago. I decided that I was not using it that much but did notice that the mirror was drooping slightly every day. I return it to normal height position and after just a short drive the mirror has drooped again. I have tried to move the mirror by hand and it is extremely firm and I cannot budge it. And yet the mirror droops in short order. Not keen on giving dealer big bucks to tell me it will cost mega bucks to correct. And yes, I have the switch in the center or neutral position and not in the passenger mirror position. JC
