I was at a salvage yard getting some parts and found a front bumper cover. he looked it up and said it would only fit an automatic not a manual tl. Is this true? it was from an 06 and said he thought the mounts were different on the manual.
and he said the price was 500 i said BS. not that it mattered if it wouldn't fit.

 

All 04-06 bumper covers are the same. A brand new OEM one is $250.

 

the 07 and 08 are the same for auto, manual, type-s? I need a new one and want to make sure I order the correct one

 

auto and manual are the same, but the type s looks different at the fog lights. would still fit though

 

07-08 Base differs from the 07-08 Type-S in regards to the shape of the fog lamp cutouts. The manual would only come in the Type S, otherwise the Transmission type doesn't matter really..

 

I will make sure I get the type S then.

 

Like they have mention above; all TL front, rear, and sides are interchangeable 04-08 regardless of transmission type.

its the shape of the bumper that is different.

 

I had a couple different junk yards tell me there is a difference for standard transmission.... does this have something to do with it?

it sounds like because you're not familiar with the parts, the junkyard or dealer is having fun with you.
the reinforcement bar is the same across all models.

04-08 bumpers are plug and play.
doesnt matter the transmission

 

Checked interchange and they do list the front bumper for A/T and M/T separately, so
did some research.
The front bumper cover is the same, but with an A/T, the bumper beam is different, as well as the addition of a front bumper dynamic damper and bracket that's not on a M/T.
Who knew?
