Question for the Chicagoland TL owners

Ok so I graduated from college, and its time for me to let go of my Type R. I'm putting a lot of thought into getting a 04 TL with Navi, black on black. My question is for those that have bought their TLs in the Chicago area, what have you piad for yours and do you have any recommendations on what dealership to go to?
Thanks.

If I were you, I would contact/email/call every dealership within a certain radius of your home (i.e. 150 miles). Ensure that each dealership knows exactly what you want (i.e. Navi TL - 5AT or 6MT?). Then, if you're leasing the TL, ensure you have the same parameters for each dealership (i.e. 42 months, $0 down, 15K miles per year, etc...).

Keeping the dealers honest by contacting multiple dealers is your best bet, IMO.

www.leaseguide.com

This will give you some "background" information on leasing vs. buying and give you more info on leasing and how it works, if you are unfamiliar.

The "sweet spot" when I leased my TL was 42 months. I put $0 down and get 15K miles per year and my payment is roughly $445 per month or thereabouts. 6MT non-navi.

I suggest to check Prestige Leasing in Glenview. Nowbody can beat their terms in leasing. I beleive, I've seen 04 TL lease advertised for just over $300/month no down.

Those are some great terms on leasing...I guess I'll stop by there since its not too far from Kraft where I work. I'll go there tomorrow during my lunch break
Thanks.

As noted, research leasing carefully before you commit. Illinois tax laws make it an even tougher decision since you will be expected to pay sales tax on the purchase price of the vehicle (the price the leasing company pays to the dealership). Like the car and decide to purchase it at the end of the lease...get ready to pay sales tax again. Do your homework.

Speak to Patrick at McGrath Acura in Morton Grove. It's near Kraft. If you need me too i will tell him you are coming. My friends and I have bought cars from him for years. He treats people with respect. He will work with your financial needs.

Be careful going to McGrath Acura in Morton Grove. I got mine from McGrath. They will offer just as good/bad price as any other dealer, but their service sucks. I had to quit them and went to Pauly Acura in Highland Park just because of service. My sister bought her TL after mine from McGrath and is quitting their service as well to Pauly’s.
Bottom line: McGrath service is no good!

I would also have to agree with Pauly. I took my Integra there a couple years ago and got the worst service ever. I go to Pauly because the service is great and they get to know who you are after awhile. It was because of their service that my dad finally left GM and has been happy ever since. We purchased our TL's together and got a fair deal as well. Go to Pauly and see how they would do for you. Great people to dela with.

I got my TL (Non NAVI) from Acura of Libertyville about 6 weeks ago. I checked all around and they were willing to give it to me for $300 over invoice. With $0 down and no security deposit (because I turned in a 00 TL for this new lease), my 36 month lease is $540 per month.

Overall, they suck -- but they were willing to give me the best deal. I, too, go to Pauly for any service. Since I will only have this lease for 36 months, my guess is that it will never see the inside of a dealer at all. . .

I'm sorry but Pauly Acura has an awful sales team. I test drove the car and the guy had no idea about what features the car had. I had to explain to him. When I walked in no one would help me. Finally this sales guy, who didn't have a clue, comes up to me and asks me to fill out a credit app before i test drive his car. That is crazy! They disrespected me. They also have a very small service department. I've taken my car for service 6 times (don't wanna talk about the issues) and have had no problem. Very friendly and efficient. Always have a TL loaner for me!! I can call and hour prior to going and they take me in with the loaner waiting for me.
