Quality Trunk Spoiler Type S...

I found a trunk spoiler for a 2004-2008 TL from SPOILER EXPRESS and wondering if anybody has bought one. Looks legit and maybe like the TYPE-S style. Unpainted is 79.00 and painted is 144.00 with a 3 year warranty.

https://spoilerexpress.3dcartstores....bile/home.asp?

Description: " Blow-molded from ABS virgin plastic resin for strength and long life. Easy installation and requires only minor drilling into your trunk lid Includes all necessary mounting hardware and instructions. The Spoiler can be ordered pre-painted to match your vehicle factory color, or primed for painting locally. Painted Spoilers are painted with Dupont paint with a 3-year warranty. Our Spoiler is backed by a Lifetime Warranty against material or workmanship defect."

What do you guys think? If nobody has bought one maybe ill be a Guinea pig! With an OEM spoiler running $600 there's gotta be an alternative like this!

Looks like the same lip spoiler that's been on ebay forever that's cheaper. It doesn't look like the Type S one.

^That. Look up thespoilerstore on eBay.

My question is...why haven't those replica companies replicated the type-s? I bet a horde of us would buy a $100, even $120, type-s replica.

Hmm well "The Spoiler Store" on EBAY doesnt even have a TYPE-S Lip listed. These two companys both sell the same spoiler it looks like. The Spoiler Store sells their painted alot cheaper. I can get a discount since i work at a dealer but im still not paying $500 for a spoiler. They should make a replica! Does the base look any good vs. the TYPE S? I have not seen the two side by side in person. TYPE S does look like its a bit taller and more aggressive tho

You won't find replica type-s trunk lid lips. That's what I'm saying.

The base looks fine and the spoilerstore lips are fine. Tons of us have them. Paint is good. Def worth the money.

What I'm saying is, me and I bet 100 other people, would quickly sell our base lips to purchase a ~$120 type-s replica.

It's just more aggressive looking. A little taller and more pronounced.

I would definately trade my base lip from thespoilerstore for a replica Type S or maybe something just a bit more aggressive if it was in a similar price range. I think the base one looks good but the S does look better, but not $4-500 better. I think mine shipped straight from Taiwan, I wonder if the Type S was available over there or they would have ever had one to make a mold from.

Well im still waiting to hear back from both companies. thespoilerstore talked to me but thought his base spoiler was a type s, which it is not. He is looking into it further. However, I did find a alternative spoiler that does look decent from sarona that kind of mimics the TYPE S spoiler. It does go down on the trunks curve but is more long than high. here is a pic...

I emailed them to see if it is a replica, comes painted, etc. There is no information on the website.

The car looks like a Type-S to me, so that looks like an OEM Type-S spoiler.

Sarona comes unpainted. That's probably the closest you will get to OEM Type S spoiler.

I'd like to see something that looks just like the Type S but just a hair taller.

Kinda like on my Impala, here's stock

Then I went to this
Name: DSC02876.jpg
Views: 1124
Size: 125.9 KB

Mimics stock but just a bit bigger. I hate when stuff screams aftermarket.

The Sarona looks shorter but longer off the rear of the trunk. Not bad looking but a bit taller would be nice

I purchased a roof spoiler from them in NYC. It looks similar to Type S and was more aggressive when I compared to my OEM base trunk spoiler. It's close but definitely not a OEM Type S trunk spoiler worth I don't know $600?

YAY!

I don't find what's so different about the process of making the Type-S one.

Just do the same as they did to replicate the base one but do it with the mold of a Type-S one lol

Yeah, the process should not be any different. Make a mold and start making spoilers! I could make them if I really wanted lol

Have not heard back from the spoiler guys yet.. but here is an update for the SARONA. I did some digging and found the SARONA spoiler is a base spoiler they are selling for $175!!! They are crazy, they just took a pic of the TYPE S and said it was their spoiler. Here is the thread I found on it...

That'd be awesome keep us updated. There's a decent market opportunity here for some 3rd party to come in and sell us bunch of these.

On a better note, I got my spoiler from SpoilerExpress its a base, good quality, had it painted and put it on yesterday! Although my TL is sad looking from the side, she's lookin' fresh from the rear! Maybe one of these companies will pull through for me and make a replica, they are sure taking their sweet ass time!

Kinda hard to tell from the pic but the molding on the lower half of the doors. If you don't have it, then good

You said "rocker molding" so I didn't know if that's what you were referring to.

Rocker molding is the molding underneath the doors, the ones you remove to put the A-SPEC kit on. I dont have mudflaps/splash guards either. Mean and Clean
